Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I figure wherever you're from, you probably like the local doughnut shops, regional preferences are real, regional, and different; and freshness might trump overall recipes/quality, at least up to a point.

Not true! I hate local donut shops.

We have a Krispy Kreme over on Route 22 here in NJ, and my wife and I desperately need to plan to go sometime. I used to hate Krispy Kreme because, growing up in NJ, I only ever had them from the refrigerated section of the supermarket; those are godawful donuts. The thing to do is get them fresh off of the conveyor in the store, and only the regular glazed. Those are some primo donuts! Better than Dunkin, and I love Dunkin!

Okay, first of all, Montville, CT is just over two hours away from Boston...

By now, there has to be a Krispy Kreme somewhere between here and there...
I know -- I'm from Mariachis Massachusetts (that might be my favorite autocorrect mistake ever 🎺). According to the store locator, the two closest are both in CT. Unless they've got a real clever business plan (like not telling people about their shops), they're not really in Southern NE.

Unrelated, I have a theory about CT being our largest small state. No matter what route I choose or where I enter the Nutmeg State, it's guaranteed to be a long drive. It always takes ages to get through, north-south or east-west. It's like a pocket dimension.

On a summer road trip, I drove across Kansas for two weeks one Saturday.
