Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Facebook memories brought back to mind this video the NYT posted several years ago. I am certain there are posters on every RPG forum I'm on that resemble this, who may not even be aware of the resemblance; I only hope I am not one of them.
I remember that one! Thanks for bringing it back to mind.🥂

In the Texas Bar Journal, there used to be a column called, “Et Cetera” which consisted of excerpts from actual transcripts of all kinds of legal proceedings.

In one of my favorites, a witness testifying on the stand used a silent head nod/shake to answer a yes/no question. The questioning attorney thanked him, vebalizing the answer. And then reminded the witness, in order for the court reporter to create an accurate transcript of testimony, all answers needed to be oral.

When the next question was asked, the witness answered, “Oral.”

Is Kappa Maki not sushi?

As I understand it, “sushi” refers to the RICE, not what is served on/in it.

This. Sui is Japanese for vinegar. Which is mixed with the rice to make sushi.

I mean I had roast beef sushi Saturday.

I stand corrected. Honestly, I should have remembered kappa maki at the very least.

Are we happy with the definition that cannoli cannot be sushi unless it includes vinegar. Preferably, as @Umbran notes, a nice fermented fish vinegar.

Maybe, @Snarf Zagyg, it is this lack of fermented fish vinegar that is at the heart of your dislike of cannoli.

It's not that my heart is naturally filled with hate. Rather, I cultivate it in my heart, like a rose. Carefully tending to the flames and fires of antipathy, such that even the blackest cockles of that vestigial organ are naught more than a vessel to allow the darkest impulses of my being full flight, unmediated by the guardrails of empathy, sympathy, or any pathies that might be confused with compassion. It's not that I necessarily abhor the companionship of my fellow person, it's more that when I encounter someone, I always think to myself, "Self, maybe I should buy them a toaster for their bathtub."

Or, you know, society made me do it. I blame other people. People, in general, suck. They eat cannolis, and play bards, and say, "Hot enough for ya?"

I miss the NYT verbatim series.
