Spoilers Doctor Who 2024 (spoilers)

I didn't like Tenant's style, so stopped watching.

Well there had to be one. Although I think he is actually the most popular Doctor, I can see why he wouldn't suit everyone.

You might want to go back and check out the other Doctor's between Tenant and at least Blink from his era since he barely appears in it. Shame you miss out on Donna by missing Tenant's era.

I guess we could do that. Maybe even give Tenant a second chance.

One thing I hate about Dr Who is the running around in corridors, staircases and tunnels, Scooby-doo style. Prevents me from binging the show.

And brother does the show do a lot of that!

I guess you could fast-forward through that stuff? I'm watching the show from the very, very beginning, and I find myself fast-forwarding through some stuff - which really helps when the stories are 6 or 8 episodes long!

Doctor Who started six years before Scooby Doo, so we should say that Scooby Doo runs up and down strangely similar corridors Doctor Who style.
William Hartnell didn't exactly do a lot of running. He'd have broken a hip.

Oddly, Hartnell's Doctor was actually referred to as Doctor Who by a rogue computer.

The running started with Patrick Troughton.

The Doctor was credited as “Doctor Who” for a lot of years. I think in the Peter Cushing films that’s his name as well. He’s called Doctor Who.

I have been showing my wife DW, and we just finished series 4 with Donna. Her observations so far are Martha Jones is her most capable companion (which I agree with) and too many Dalek episodes (I am definitely starting to agree with this). Donna's season is very interesting. I like her combination of feistiness and vulnerability. I also do like her tragic exit, though I think the show developed a bad habit of always having those. Some things don't make as much sense in hindsight or feel like they could have been done better (some of the really over the top epic story lines in the Davies era feel a little small on TV with a TV budget). I think the best episodes are more like the classic doctor who show, with emphasis on things like story and dialogue. Though some of the more ambitious ones, like Silence in the Library really hold up. Eager to see what she thinks of the Tennant specials and the Matt Smith Era.
