Local news keeps referring to it as "Microsoft software", which makes people think that MS screwed up. It's only a "Microsoft outage" in that the software runs on Windows. A local "tech expert's" reputation just dropped significantly, in my mind, because of his interview about it.

Or why most home users aren't having any direct trouble, because they're unlikely to be using security software by the people who dropped the update.

Man its absolutely hilarious to me that we are so fragile as a global network. One company screws up, how much of an impact is this having? I woke up to the emails, I had gone to bed thinking it was an Azure issue, that was the last article I read, and now its global news.

I'm currently reading a book about the history of information industries, and the author notes how there's been a cycle of things going from decentralization (which is disorganized and often lackluster/limited in its service, but highly adaptable and robust due to various redundancies) to centralization (which is more efficient and often has better performance, but is less innovative and more vulnerable to disruption) and back again.

Reliced guitars are made with more modern materials that are much more durable than nitrocellulose. To get the kind is wear you’d see on an old, much used guitar, you’d have to actively and intentionally damage it.

I asked because nitrocelulose is also known as Gun Cotton and can be used to make impact fired primers. I got the formula and method of creation from, of all things, a science reference book int he library of my middle school.

No, I understand how someone could reach the conclusion you expressed! I believe that I first learned of the nitrocellulose-related exploding billiard ball problem from the original Connections TV show, but here it is in text:
