There is no "DM's toolbox" in the 2024 DMG as far as we know.I think they might be in Chapter the DM's Toolbox. But I can see them being downplayed in the new book too.

That might be true (and I don't think that it is), but it's a good thing to use the IP. No one needs to use D&D's IP for their home games, but they can use it for inspiration. And many might want to use it, without having to do a Wiki-dive. It's also a good thing for the health and future of the game, from a business standpoint, that isn't just milking the TTRPG for more cash. The summery reads like the whole book is more focused on showcasing the IP in various ways than anything else.

Call it "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons".None of their discussion about the 2024 DMG has included optional rules. That has concerned me for awhile. I don't see anything about creating monsters or spells either! This has had me very concerned.
However, I am now hopeful that this means there will be a DM centered 4th book that covers just optional rules, variants, monster creation, magic item creation, spell creation, eetc.

Yeah, the video glossed over it. It was definitely emphasizing that this book should appeal to beginners.“As much as the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide contains tutorials on how D&D is actually played, it also contains tons of ways to add to your game, like the DM's Toolkit chapter”

@Micah Sweet I feel better now. From the article:
As much as the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide contains tutorials on how D&D is actually played, it also contains tons of ways to add to your game, like the DM's Toolkit chapter. This section covers the building blocks for your game. You can now easily find information about anything from alignment to traps, reorganized into alphabetical order to make them easy to look up. Need to create a background, creature, magic item, or spell to fit your story? This chapter walks you through the process. Just TPK'd your party? You'll find advice on how to handle the situation here.
