yes, that is what I was looking for, actual rules. I agree that in this particular case they are pretty easy to figure out, but they still are what I would want / expect hereOh - is that what you meant @mamba? Of course that's there too.
And yet they're still asking folks to drop $150 to buy their core books again. The tools in the 2014 DMG still work, the game is still 5e. It has not changed in any fundamental way.
Yeah. I see no evidence they have any particular interest anymore in having DMs make the game their own mechanically.if creating monsters is the whole purpose, then all MMs so far failed at their one purpose. I am far from certain we will get rules there

you might want to pressure pacing, or not, depending on tension-building
I like the base 5e ruleset just fine. Just not the current official expression of it.Didn't you know, Tasha's Cereal Bowl of Variant Rules comes out next year. And that's another $50. So it's actually $200 for the same functionality. And we still won't get meaningful guidance on how to play nice in a group.
I really do like 5e, I swear. I'm just sassy tonight.
The fact they, finally, address the basics of pacing makes me very happy. This is part of the game that even seasoned DMs often struggle with. And it desperately needed attention.

I'm really curious how they handle this. The fact they, finally, address the basics of pacing makes me very happy. This is part of the game that even seasoned DMs often struggle with. And it desperately needed attention.
