Not really, no. In the early pulp era (1924) it was in the 1/2¢ to 1¢/word neighborhood. And as of Sept 2019 the pro rate hit 8¢/word.

They've clearly cranked it recently--back when I was routinely popping into the late, lamented ralan.com, it was $.05/word, same as when I was reading Writer's Digest and stuff in the early 1990s. I presume the Mystery and Horror folks are following SFWA, here--especially HWA.

That sounds right on the 5¢/word from my recollection. Not sure about the mystery and horror writers’ pro rates, but I imagine they’re similar.

Unrelated to the above ... That's a very effective way of redirecting the conversation, that is. Good job, well done, I'll probably have to kill you in the morning.

Just imagine the kids trying to use this stuff in school. The future is Idiocracy.
You can somehow do worse. Imagine if your AI model was trained off of retail WoW general chat logs or at least that's my assumption here with this one.

I wonder if one of the biggest signs that my groups were different is that we never thought of using 3.5 or PF1e to power game. We just thought it was great to be able to get really close to our character concepts...
People use the game in different ways…I think this is why some have such strong gripes while I shrug.

We don’t for example have games ruined by wizards generally…but I guess we could if we wanted.

I think what is true to a person is true for them but does not always square with me. It’s fine…edition/game does not preclude the need to find the right people to play with.
