They've clearly cranked it recently--back when I was routinely popping into the late, lamented ralan.com, it was $.05/word, same as when I was reading Writer's Digest and stuff in the early 1990s. I presume the Mystery and Horror folks are following SFWA, here--especially HWA.Not really, no. In the early pulp era (1924) it was in the 1/2¢ to 1¢/word neighborhood. And as of Sept 2019 the pro rate hit 8¢/word.
