While not that old, a lot of that still looks pretty good to me...

(Especially if I could get it at those prices...)

Yeah, I bet. My wife and I are both from the US but different states and different backgrounds.

"What the hell is Sabado Gigante?"

"¿You've never heard of Sabado Gigante?"

We've got the advantage that routine California and Texas food culture isn't that different (other than they have a hell of a lot better barbecue than you can routinely find out here, and we tend to have a better access to Asian and Mediterranean food on the whole. We still get to argue who serves up better Mexican food though...)

I live in the middle of nowhere in California and I still have access to pho, bibimbap dolsat, curry, pad thai, sushi, to say nothing of all the wild hippie fusion nonsense that's everywhere in CA that's usually hit or miss but when it hits...

Some of the only good food that I can't get where I live is traditional korean bbq.

I don't live anywhere near the Asian American enclaves of the San Gabriel Valley or the San Francisco Bay and there are more Thai restaurants than pizza places. It's great but I know probably pretty out of step for most of the US.
