Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Up to a point. There's no such thing as the perfect RPG for a given player unless they designed it themselves. And a whole table? Hope their all in perfect alignment on preferences and tastes otherwise you're in for trouble. You'll have to house rule any game so, for me, it's more a question of when is it too much? How many house rules are too many before it's time to publish your "new" RPG or switch to an existing system that's closer to your goal than your current game.

While true, you ought to start with the game that's closest to what you want and work from there, not the one you might be most used to that's none the less much farther away.

I have never seen someone who so clearly hates D&D pop his head into so many D&D threads as that dude.

Come to think of it, I’m not even sure what game he does like.

If you like a number of them, any one is unlikely to come up. (Of course talking about how much better it is than D&D would be poor form in most threads even if you do have one).

I always wonder how is D&D so popular if everyone hates it.
I don’t know it’s crazy!

I am over here thinking of characters to play, dungeons and adventures to create, foam terrain and landscapes ro craft, minis to trade or buy…I don’t have enough energy to hate the lot…

If I find more energy I hope to play and craft: maybe try the retro clone I bought..:but meantime gotta play some 5e to finish the adventure with my kids, try to get back into my grown up game…
