D&D (2024) What battlemaster maneuver would you allow to be used at-will, if any, but without adding die roll to the effect of it?

Horwath

Legend
simple,
as a variant to weapon masteries, and it can even be changed to use mastery slots to learn battlemaster maneuvers.

here is my list for at-will maneuvers without adding die results:

Bait and Switch.
Commander's strike
Disarming attack
Distracting strike
Evasive footwork
Feinting attack, no move penalty but limited version of Rogue's Aim action
Goading attack
Parry
Pushing attack
Rally, I am doubtful about this one, but temp HP is more prevalent in 2024 and amount without the die roll is really low.
Riposte
Trip attack

older material:
Brace
Quick toss, thrown weapon attack suck mostly.

Would this make the Battlemaster (BM) less cool if some of his powers were taken away or rather, made available to others? I know that my table has never taken BM, but only the Champion and maybe this would make them cooler to have more options.

maybe,
but BW would still remained the only one with Dice to add to effect and more options to take more maneuvers.
other classes with masteries would just dip the in the power pool of BM.

and BM still would have option to use all maneuvers at will if they are on the list.

If i had to pick just one, Commander's Strike.
So I can play a warlord.

I wouldn't allow Riposte.
... aaaand Riposte FTW! I mean if your opponent misses you, you get an AoE?

I have thought about Riposte that way, but it works best with S&B builds and they really do not get a lot of damage out, and you still need to hit that attack and it uses your Reaction.

ofc, this free usage can be limited to once per round, so you need to not use it on your turn in hope that someone will miss you so you can take the Reaction.
as it, I missed all attacks on my turn so I didn't have the chance to use a maneuver, so maybe I'll get the chance while they are beating me up.

i'll figure out my actual list later sometime, but something i'm noticing is that in alot of the manoeuvres the maneuvre dice roll doesn't do much for them besides act as currency to use it in the first place and add a little damage equal to the roll, and for those that do actually use the roll they would be rendered mostly useless.

personally i'd reduce the maneuvre dice size for anyone not a BM to a d4 and say you get one free use per turn, or something to that effect.
