Team Infiltrate - I posted some notes IC regarding light, but feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Otherwise, it occurs to me that it might be important to know how the Portcullis works. It's a heavy iron gate that drops from above, held up by some chain and rope, where the chain runs out. There is a crank-drum for winding it in the east wall (on the side of the prison, not the storeroom). No one wants to be under it when it comes down. ("Under" in this case is any of the six squares along 61/62 at AM-AO).

It's possible that Rowlow will consider shooting it out this round, but quarrels are not the best way to break ropes or chains. It's probably a waste of his time to try. An axe is better. But if you want to bring it down, you'd probably want to do it from the wrong side (IE store-room side). And if the mechanism ain't broke, then they can just wind it back up (though that might be tough to do under fire, and it will take longer than a round).

IF the portcullis comes down, it would mostly be a shooting match from both sides, and it will provide 3/4 cover.
 

@Leatherhead, Terrin doesn't have the ability to teleport, and I think Lorent is out of spell slots, but perhaps Copper could lower the portcullis and somehow render the mechanism inoperable while the rest of us get inside the storeroom and provide covering fire, and then use Cloud's Jaunt to join us? (I'd imagine you'd be able to see through the portcullis.)

To be honest, my plan (so much as it is) was to send the ox team charging at the mercenaries in the darkness.
That's a good idea. I was trying to think of a way we could use the oxen. If it works, it could maybe buy us some time to get the portcullis down and disabled, which was Terrin's plan, but I haven't thought of a way he could execute that without getting himself killed. It looks like the whole force of mercenaries/cultists will be at our position in about two rounds, maybe one if they hurry. I'm not sure if a stampede will make closing the portcullis more or less feasible. If they have to lift/break through/fix the portcullis to continue pursuit, that could hopefully buy us some time. Do you have a plan for how to cause a stampede? Lorent's out of the way for now, and Terrin could get out of the way. I'm not sure about Stryke, but I think he'd have time to react. If I don't hear back or see a post, I'll try to get a post up later today assuming this is what Copper's going to do.
 

Portcullis and oxen don't mix well, if it falls on them might disable them, but leave enough space for cultists to go through...
if we manage to drop it down and disable, we might be able to regroup somewhere ... if we manage to get out
 

@FitzTheRuke Trying to think of what to do and need some info. What did Darius figure out about the portal. Is it that it can't be turned off or diverted from this side or was it that I need to enter the teleporter to do it which would activate it? Do I have any idea how to stop it from auto activating when I step inside? Let me know if you need me to roll anything. I also have mage hand if that would let me do something.
