D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

Is your view is that partial sales data for physical book sales three years after the launch of D&D Beyond constitutes evidence that books released after 2020 sold fewer copies overall than those released before 2020?

My view is its a decent sample size bigger than political polls.

Its not an indicator to D&Ds over all health because of Beyond and other streams.

5.6 hypothetically coukd sell less than 5.0 but make more money in revenue and/or profit.

A lot of the low rated D&D products by non chuds you see the same products cropping up in the top and bottom though.

But that's not how that works. Using statistical sampling to predict the opinions of an entire population is mathematically completely different from extrapolating overall sales from incomplete sales data.

That sales data also backs up a lot of what WotC has claimed.

Idk what % of overall sales books can is. But its what we have and no one else here has access to anything better.

My original post also included the information we have. Bookscan backs up some of WotC claims.

Basically big selling 5E splat books and adventures have probably outsold your favorite edition if its not 5E;).

You should be able to guess the obvious ones and when the other products sell well.

Exactly! The limited information we do have isn't sufficient to reach any conclusions about how well individual titles have sold. We simply don't know if Fizban's Treasury of Dragons sold better than Volo's Guide to Monsters or whether post-Tasha's titles sold better or worse individually than pre-Tasha's books.

I said Financials. Bookscans big enough source to arguably spot trends.

I wouldn't treat it as an absolute. Declining 5E sales on bookscan did overlap with 5.5 announcement though.

Some older material and rereleases was also outselling newer material.

Draw your own conclusions of course but its interesting at looking at things that overlap with WotC events and announcements.

Enworld has the knowledge to repair the rules, run the games, and punish the munchkins.
Enworld could save more games in a single year then WOTC could in a hundred.
WOTC is failing this game and its players.
ENWorld has an edition. (Level-up a5e).
I'm sure more than one of us here are working on or have already put out d&d alternatives of one kind or another.
Hasbro has the marketing budget. They're not going anywhere. Lol

Not sure if the OP is serious or a 3am post in the midst of a smoky haze while watching pine apple express movie, but the first 4 pages of comments I’ve read have been amusing.

Bit out of context. You speculated the purely hyperthetical situation.

Im assuming you're not deliberately sealioning me. I was disagreeing with your hypothetical situation. I dont think speculation is required when a large part of BG3s appeal is likely its adult type content.

Sorry, that was out of line. I’ve deleted my response.
