To me, they just look like someone from some time ago's idea of what 'futuristic' things would look like. Like, apparently the original Transformers cartoon movie from 1986 was set in 2005, and had transformers that turned into 'modern for 2005' vehicles, and their idea about what that would look like were, well, very "of their time."
I think some people doth protest too much.
Hell, I'd rather go back to college, get another degree, learn to code, and then write my own browser.IE before that.
Microsoft keeps shooting themselves in the foot. The recent Windows 11 25H2 update broke the Windows Recovery Environment, by disabling USB access for keyboard and mouse. This update is to prepare for additional features that are being rolled out for this version, apparently including more AI features. They were rather quick to roll out the fix for this issue but the fact that the fix also includes a few AI updates gives the impression, true or not, that the AI features are what somehow broke USB.On the subject of AI getting more and more baked into things, hearing Microsoft folks saying they see Copilot as being a key cog in the future of Windows makes me feel better about not buying a new laptop when Windows 10 support ended and forcing myself to get comfortable with Linux. Steamdeck pushing Linux gaming further will only help that effort.
