Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I admit language can help with both romance and dealing with kids.

But, cos I'm feeling mildly argumentative, romance can be done exclusively with the eyes. Just ask Rudolph Valentino.

As for children, my sister-in-law uses the "bribe 'em with treats" method. Yes, words help. Except when they don't.

Atcherly, I don't feel argumentative at all. Just wanted to make a couple of dumb jokes.

I mean, I know Hasbro only bought Wizards of the Coast to get their hands on the D&D property before WotC completely destroyed it with their Ascending AC, but I think they should be feeling pretty good about themselves and the unintended side benefits of their acquisition!

I know you're kidding but sadly, I remember a couple of my friends having a nasty argument about ascending armor class in the early 2000s. We're talking shouting red faces, shaking fists, little flecks of spittle at the corner of their mouths, all of it. The whole awful display was surreal to watch.

One of them (let's call him Kevin) was especially salty about it. "It's not real D&D!" he bellowed. "Real D&D has THAC0!" He was mostly upset because it meant that he would have to convert all of his modules and characters and stuff if he wanted to use them under the d20 System. But he was also upset because in the war of ascending vs. descending Armor Class, this was a definitive loss.

"Oh is that a problem?" the other guy (let's call him Chad) would fire back. "I thought you said thay-co is easy! I thought you said anyone can just do it in their head! You always tells us to stop pretending math is hard!" Chad was, and probably still is, a sarcastic jerk.

They almost came to blows over it.

Chad is a poseur. Real D&D uses tables.

It's probably wrong of me, but I so want you to follow this up with, "...and that's how they got together. They've been married now for 11 years."
