Well now, that's a nice sentiment but I'm under no illusion Canada declared war because the US was attacked. I know that Japan also attacked the British Empire in Hong Kong and Malaya and declared war on the UK and Canada the same day Pearl Harbor was attacked. Canadians may be stalwart allies, but they've been stalwart allies of the UK first and foremost. The US was a secondary consideration before NATO.

You're absolutely right. Canada declared war against Japan before both the US and England. There were something like 2000 Canadian troops in Hong Kong when it fell.

I was thinking more that they seem to know it’s now 7 am and it’s time to wake up even if we humans think it’s still 6 am because that’s what it was yesterday.

They also know that it’s now 5:30 pm and is thus time to start acting like twigs even if we humans think it’s only 4:30 pm. They don’t wait till 6:30 …
