Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

To make matters worse, the stress and awkwardness of the truck's big, nearly horizontal steering wheel have aggravated my left neck and shoulder. I'm really hoping that it doesn't result in a return of the bursitis + pinched nerve double whammy I experienced back in 2023 (that was a result of spending hours power-washing my driveway and then getting a massage; woke up the next morning with my neck and shoulder on fire. Couldn't sleep for weeks ... took months of physiotherapy and painkillers and a steroid shot to overcome.)
Bursitis, alone, is bad enough. I wouldn't wish that double-tap on anyone.

I think it's been long enough that I can say without hurting anyone's feelings: The people of Pompeii were not good at playing the floor is lava.
There was an infamous student at my college who allegedly had some sort of breakdown in a Classics class because other people were making light of the plight of the Pompeiians. I'm not sure it really happened as the legend has been told to me, with yelling and tears, but it 100% fit her personality to pull that sort of crap, either because she actually developed a weird emotional attachment to people who died 2000 years ago or because she just wanted to do the Socrates social gadfly thing and stir things up.

So watch out where you make those Pompeii jokes. For some folks its still too soon.

Also, I'm pretty sure the game they really weren't good at was "The Air Is Burning Ash."

I know librarians still mad about the Library of Alexandria burning.
