I'm finally finished. 147 pages of mythology, history, geography, factions, and other lore...complete with timelines and maps...a fully-detailed "home town" with NPCs, shops, and recipes (not kidding)...dozens of new ancestries, new classes and subclasses, new feats and new spells, new monsters...plus house rules, options, and variants...

...that's right, my homebrew campaign's "Sundered World Adventurers' Guide" (SWAG) is complete. I started it during the Covid-19 lockdowns, and have spent the years since adding, removing, testing, revising, and polishing it. And now it's finally done.

New characters will be rolled up after Thanksgiving, and the campaign starts after Christmas. I'm so excited you guys don't even know.

Clearly I disagree.

As I said, if you are going to dismiss someone, do it for their specifics. "Dude, you don't know what you are talking about" is far better than, "Dude, you haven't read enough to speak."
People not knowing what they're talking about BECAUSE they've only played one or two games and are ignorant of huge swathes of design is an endemic issue in casual RPG discussion. 🤷‍♂️

We don’t know the original context for the comment ultimately.
Sure. And that's the intent of the thread. It just seemed evident to me that there's a common and recurring situation Whizbang was mostly likely reacting to (but not directly responding to, thus avoiding an unpleasant interaction). That's the most likely scenario, especially since we know Whizbang's a pleasant and reasonable poster. And that Umbran was stretching to an uncharitable interpretation.
