Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

You know if you’re one of the people who needs this.

I unfortunately couldn't find a non-karaoke video version of this one:

In the sphere where I was born,
Lived the oldest gnome I've seen,
And he told us of his life
In the Gnomish Space Marines.
So we jammed up to the sun
In our fine well-built machine,
And we joined the stately ranks
Of the Gnomish Space Marines.

[chorus]
We're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.
Yes, we're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.
Got our tinkers all aboard,
All the ones we could afford.
Our kazoo band likes to play. . .
[musical interlude]

We're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.
Yes, we're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.

Giant hamsters move the wheels,
And they drive our great machine.
They give us spaham for all our meals,
And bite us only when they're mean.

We're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.
Yes, we're all part of the Gnomish Space Marines,
The Gnomish Space Marines, the Gnomish Space Marines.

Today I wrestled with my ego. I really wanted to put someone on blast, but a more mindful part of myself won out. I even resisted the urge to block them on all social media. It is amazing how much there is still a part of me that whispers, "do it."

Instead, I worked on my personal health, paid my bills like the adult I am, helped my nephew pickup his truck from the respair shop, and spent time with my wife (and our pets) enjoying their accepting presence in my life. In short, I didn't waste time worrying or overthinking and enjoyed my time on spaceship Earth.

On the docket for the next week and month, adding exercise to my daily life, get the tax prep done so it is the accountants problem, and start running D&D or some other RPG with friends and family. Go me.

To be honest, if someone is causing you negative health consequences, it’s not unreasonable to excise them from your life.
Naw, my health issues are the result of having long COVID for a year and a half. I had a formal diagnosis last month. Basically I have 4 hours of physical/mental energy a day and I have to pick and choose what I spend it on.

It’s funny but I also noticed when I don’t give into that urge to fire back that often times I reread the post and can sometimes sense that the author is deliberately seeking an argument. Some posts are challenges for someone to cross the line and engage with them for page after page. It’s really nice to just walk away and deny them that.
