High Level Ranger vs Fighter Powers

You're quite right, Fighters have some really good powers. In fact it's a good idea to multi-class Fighter and take some of them.

    cross class paragon paths

I quite like that idea, add some damage grunt to the most durable class and boost their Lay on Hands per day in the process. Plus an extra point of AC for your Plate-wearing sheild toting brick wall.

That's 25 damage average vs. 20.5 damage average. A shield on the other hand will let you take 25% less damage and when you Tide of Iron that monster into your Wizards Flaming Sphere you make up the extra damage.

Anyone tried a fighter with reach yet?

Stalker0, are you the tank of the group? Maybe you could make a reach Fighter work if you weren't the tank of the group. I've been thinking, while Polearm Gamble + Combat Superiority is a bad combo when you're trying to hold the monsters attention, it could work quite well if you were just...

Anyone tried a fighter with reach yet?

Yes, and the trouble with that is that the stat requirements are too high unless your character can use Str AND Wis. This is how I'd do it: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/view.php?id=76064 The +hit is a bit low though so maybe Dragonborn is a better way to go.

Anyone tried a fighter with reach yet?

Polearms have their uses, they're just a bit specific: Too many melee characters in the group? Give one a polearm and you can fit more into the combat. Polearm Gamble build. Anyone with the right stats can become a mobile hazard. Push monsters into them for extra damage. Polearm Gamble Paladin...

Explain to me why are these feats good?

Scimitar dance - Adds more damage than any other feat, what's not to like? I'd love it if all 18 of my feat choices added this much damage. HBO - Good for people who need to be able to make OA's but have poor str scores. However the requirements for this feat are too high and I don't like it...

    Damage Mitigation Calculator

OK I see what you mean, the Con bonus bit wasn't in the 'Edit Me' colour. I've fixed that and added columns for Bonus HP and Bonus Surges for people with Toughness or Durability etc.

    Healing Strike

I really don't like that power, the mark is annoying and it's too unreliable for a heal.

    Dwarven Fighter Discussion

Swordmaster AoE tank build then. It makes you a great tank and keeps your damage high by hitting lots of targets at once. The only place it suffers that your damage against solos wont be great. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/view.php?id=73809 (progression at the end) There are some...

    Dwarven Fighter Discussion

DWT doesn't stack with Weapon Focus, so while It's nice from levels 1 to 10 it becomes redundant for a Fighter after that. Hammer Rhythm is great because half your attacks are going to miss, so half the time you'll be doing damage with your high Con mod instead of none. That combo's well with...

    Dwarven Fighter Discussion

Human's and Dragonborn make better high damage fighters, the dwarf is the king of tanking (with Dragonborn being second in that role). What's your objective with this character long term?

    Soldier of the Faith overpowered?

I read it as meaning you only get the damage once and only if it triggers before the start of your next turn. So the Paladin keeps refreshing it and engaging the target to maintain that extra damage. It's seems like a cop-out if you can just engage once then hide around a corner. I'll see if I...

Need help with Blade Cascade math

Don't worry I've got it all sorted now. The top one is the Blade Cascade / Armor Splinter combo, both builds are humans and demigods:

    Soldier of the Faith overpowered?

It's in the power: "Also, it takes radiant damage equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier the first time it makes an attack that doesn’t include you as a target before the start of your next turn."
