New spell : your opinion requested

This all works in my opinion and makes sense. My real issue would be that there does not seem to be a ton of use for it. Interogations possibly and maybe strategic placing, but that is all I can think of. Nonetheless, good job.

D&D 5E Easedropping on Sending spells

Seems like an interesting spell and a unique solution; however, I think the 5% of failure on another realm is pretty low. In fact, I would recomend that there be a 5% chance of failure in general and 50% between different planes. Overall great work!

D&D 5E Symbol of Adventuring Life

Hello! Every world has some kind of symbol of an adventuring life, ships, backpacks, or even a towel for the hitchhikers out there. In my world the adventuring life is represented with a simple sword, like many others I assume. My questions: What is the symbol of the adventurer's lifestyle in...

D&D 5E Help me build a level 15 Conjurer (PHB only no Feats)

I am not very keen on the idea of helping with the whole character, (seeems a little to straight forward, no offense) but helping with magic items should be pretty cool! So first I would say that you need a wand! -Wand of Magic Missiles: Could be cool, but I would only recommend it for a high...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Poll

Hello! Hope everyone had a great holiday. So like many I treated my self recently and bought Xanathar's Guide, but I have to say I was some what disappointed. To go into more detail, I just felt like they handed us a bunch of UA material and a couple of other small interesting things and sold...

D&D 5E Do you prefer to fight with melee or ranged weapons?

I love me a good mix, however if I had to choose I would say ranged as it gives more variety in play.

Dungeon Masters Guild Roundup: Random Loot

Pretty nice roundup of books, can't wait to check some of them out.

    D&D 5E Magic Resistance idea

I like it. It is rather simple, but some of the best rules are. For other magic effects... I would say that if it is an item that takes charges, then it takes two charges to use the item effectively against the creature. For Items that don't take charges I would say that its effect is halved...

    D&D 5E Freezing a region.

Well I think it really depends on how long you plan on this campaign lasting, for example in a 1-10 lvl campaign you will have a different range of abilities for BBEG than in a 1-6 lvl one. I would say if this is a long term campaign (15-20 lvl) then just have the giant literally get help from...

D&D 5E Ideas for a smart City Watch

I think that the best solution to this peoblem is simply implementing low-level wizards in guard patrols, I mean as you have stated "Spellcasters are everywhere, especially large cities." If this is the case, and it is in most high fantasy realms, then I think it is fairly reasonable to assume...

D&D 5E Solution to the problems with Passive Perception!

Yeah I apparently got beaten to the punch! But I am more so happy that the idea is out there, because it just seems like a good way to use passivs percepion. Anyways I should probably give the aforementioned article a read.

D&D 5E Solution to the problems with Passive Perception!

Hello! Background: I have been having longtime issues with Passive Perception in current D&D, I did not want to have to much control over traps and such and I did not want my players rolling perception every time they enter a room; for awhile I thought that there was no solution to this...

    D&D 5E Shadow Monk: Straight, or Monk/Rogue

I personally have always liked the Monk/rogue combo and it works very well mechanically, so if you want to I would say go ahead!

D&D 5E The life and times of Peasant #453: Benefits of collaborative world building

I have to say that I can relate to your problem, and although you solved much differently then I did, I still admire your creative solution! I would have just taken the backstory of that merchant that the players skipped earlier and given it to that random npc, this way you still get to share...
