How would you flavor this race and class combo?

Good suggestions above! An alternative, perhaps, could be that the vampirism is a symptom of a strong mind control. The warforged doesn't physically need the blood, but pyschologically, it receives immense pleasure and satisfaction by sucking blood from others. It would be pretty creepy to have...

How would you design this encounter?

Here's how I see it. Refer to the ugly-yet-incredibly-useful MSPaint flowchart.

Speeding up combat with Skirmishes & Set-Pieces

I've used this approach befire as well. For me, it harkens back to earlier editions, which can be a lot of fun. I'd say, as a suggestion to avoid the "clinches," make the combatants you control as DM dynamic. Give them a sling or a javelin or two so they can shift, jump, tumble, or scramble out...

D&D 4E Trying to incorporate the *5E* ability score checks for skills into 4E

That is the way it already works. A 1 is never an automatic fail for skill checks., so if your skill score is the DC-1, it is an automatic success. No houserule needed.

    Dwarves racial power?

Dwarves can break Wind faster than anyone else, and for them, it feels GREAT!

Huzzah! More XP for Gary from me today. :)

Designating All Daily Attack Powers as [Reliable]

I am on the opposed side for this rule. As the Jester pointed out, taking the miss/effect leaves the power unwasted, and potentially you'll end up with higher damage output next turn if you hit with you next chosen attack. I feel making all dailies reliable would exacerbate grind by lowering...

    D&D 4E Help, I’m a Terrible (4E) DM

Failing everything else, throw an arcane-artillery type into your next combat encounter. Give it a new fire-type spell that functions like a disease. Upon contraction it does damage, upon worsening it slags a piece of armor at random, upon worsening again it slags a weapon. Sit back...

My Box of Conjuring - Workable or Not?

Regarding how many things can be made at once: I'd say that the in-game mechanics of this conjuration box need to be pretty limiting. Even if they can use it once a day, the pc's might get lazy and come to depend on it. I'd give it a three-day cooldown, a decent cost of magic residuum, or some...

    Mountains of Gibberish

Found a few more things, This one can develop up to 15 military mottos at a time. If you string a few/all of them together, you'll have plenty of militaristic jargon! This is probably the closest you will get to a militaristic gibberish generator. This one lets you type in text/speech, and it...

PC and NPC Secrets - Looking for Suggestions

*I and the people of my town were once slaves to a now-extinct evil cult. I watched my friends and even family members drop before me from exhaustion as we toiled, only knowing we had no choice but to aid some horrible ritual. I learned things I wish I hadn't... *I age incredibly...

    One funny memory.

I would have totally joined in! My band used to play gigs at a local comic book/gaming shop (two of us worked there.) One night, as we were breaking down our equipment,we needed a flashlight ("torch" for the UK takers among us) so we sent a friend out to his car for one. Seconds later we hear...

    Mountains of Gibberish

Well I found a close second to a gibberish generator. Here is are some tables you can roll on for one-liners common to D&D games. Even though the author calls it "anti-gibberish," it will almost always give you gibberish! Here

Irresponsible use of magic and other WMDs

The DM of the campaign expected us to be familiar with any spells we wanted to use, and let us learn by making mistakes. Here's a simplified diagram of the fight we were in: D-----FE Druid, Fighter, and Enemy. The druid decides to send a Flaming Sphere rolling into combat in a straight line...

Irresponsible use of magic and other WMDs

An aside from the thread topic: I wouldn't argue that that was meta-gaming, it is highly possible that adventurers in the world would know effective and non-effective ways to combat different enemy types simply as "common adventurer knowledge." And if the character had fought demons previously...
