OTOH, I gotta speak up for TOS Trek -- I mean, compare it to the show that constantly beat it in the ratings at the time: Lost In Space! Miles ahead

So say I, a middle aged dude who remembers watching this show when it was originally on the air...

Who's bashing TOS? I love TOS. If I did not love TOS, I would
not see the funk. TOS was funk before funk.

It's like the line out of a random Star Trek parody song one radio station did back in the 80s... "Get down and get funky, Capt'n" (by a "Scotty" soundalike). The song had various other "quotes" by the rest of the "cast".

Makes me wish I had a better copy than on the wearing out blank tape I'd copied it on....
