Sex and "adult themes" in game

I would say it depends on the players. If one player is uncomforatble to describe sexual actions informt of the other players sex is off camera. If all players agree to describe in front of the group they can describe sex.

I do not like to describe sexual actions in front of the enture gaming group. Once I described sexual actions by electronic mails to the GM only.

:D :D :D

The comparison is, they're all three bodily functions that ain't really important unless you can't engage in them for awhile, and they're all things I don't want to pretend to do with a roomful of my friends-- male or female.

Sex is a little more important because it's usually associated with a number of other things-- but it's still easily glossed over.

I actually think it's a good comparison, but the manner of phrasing just made it too easy to pick on :)

the elven bard in our party has ranks in perform.

during one session she slept with a whole barracks of soliders in Cormyr. to get important information. in truth, she didn't. but the rest of the party assumed she did. so we tease her about it all the time. perform (striptease).

he is now a deep halfling arcane archer. after having spent time as a kobold too. ;)

ain't reincarnate an interesting spell.

In our group, we say:

"D00d, what are you talking about? What next - are you going to announce whenever you take a :):):):)?"

Yeah, it's entirely off camera for us.

Here, I would say it's the violence, not sexuality, that makes people wince. I have had several games in a row with no fighting, and when I started DMing here some of my Japanese players didn't like my normal battle descriptions (like "You slash across his arm...") as they were too graphic. But they never cared about sex. We don't linger on exactly what happened all session, the same way we don't linger on just HOW the rogue opened the lock. It's boring for the other players, but it's not dirty or taboo.

What are called "role playing games" in the west are called "Table talk games" here. They are about building relationships, and rarely about fighting (maybe once every few games). Now, that's not all games, but that's a lot of games in Japan. The whole EXP for killing has been removed form my game. If the PC's kill something for no reason, no EXP. I suppose if one of them seduced a random NPC for no reason, there would also be no EXP. For reference, the big story arc right now in one of the Japanese games I play in is about building a new set of roads to connect several small villages.

There's an interesting anthropology study in there somewhere…

This should sum it up...

Pretty much the same in my game --

We had an off camera dalience between a young Elf Lord NPC and a female played Changeling (Half Elf Varient) last session but that was the limit and the most I have ever seen IMC

You can buy some stuff from BOEF and the like IMC if you really want to but no one ever has-- good contraception exists and PC's have plot immunity from preganacy and its consequences if they want it

VD doesn't exist except for a local Ghonnorea (sp?) Varient called the Clap or Whores Friend

In genral though its Less Sex More Death IMG and I like it that way
