SX:3 From the Bowels of Philadelphia (Hero For Hire Judging)

"Suit yourself Genius. Alright, let's move out" Aquaphibian says with a smirk. He turns and starts running to the cave in. "Scientists, sheesh. Oceanographers aren't nearly as snooty!"

As Aquaphibian begins run out of the lab, Dr. McCarthy points to a monitor. The following news account is rolling:

The news shows a large Dam, illuminated by bright lights amid the dark hills and forest.
“…fate of the seventeen workers inside is still unclear. We have intercepted these broadcasts from inside the dam. We apologize for the poor quality of these transmissions.”
The image of the dam is replaced by a grainy close-up of man’s face, his sunken eyes burning into the camera.
“…unworthy of my genius, unworthy of my gifts.” >brzzt< “You would just as soon forget me, smother me in your mediocrity…” >brzzt< “…merely insects, all of you, and this is all you deserve. You will long remember this day, and with it the name of Dr…” >brzzzzzzt<
The broadcast ends in a jagged line of static.
“To recap, the criminal mastermind known as Dr Null has taken control of the Conowingo Dam. Police have cordoned off the area but are waiting for reinforcements before moving in. No demands have been made so far, and there is concern that a show of force could end the uneasy stand-off and spur Null to destroy the dam, flooding a considerable portion of the greater metropolitan area and threatening to destroy the community of …”

Just then, Wheeler's voice breaks in on the radio, "Aquaphibian, get topside as soon as possible with Ghost and Twilight Gryphon. Leave Intrepid and Million Mask there to clear out any other problems. We got a situation at the Conowingo Dam. We don't know why he's there, but Null is threatening the Dam. One of our analysts thinks he might be a threat to poison Baltimore's water supply"

After some discussion a technician at the Resolute headquarters leads the three out of the maze of Dr. Null's hideout to the street through a utility access tunnel using old city blueprints. They are about two blocks from the jet and can see their pilot, Dick, waving his arms at them. As they pile on board, he says "We'll be there in about seven minutes. They have a landing site picked out for me already. You guys get ready to take care of business, I'll get you there". Without another word the Vigilant "jumps" into the air and takes off.

ooc: We are at a little stopping point for a week. My wife is visiting me from Alaska. When we pick this up at the Dam, you'll have two more players. For those interested http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conowingo_Dam Could have made up something fictional, but I like to use real places.

"It may be faster just to open the door when we're above the dam. Ghost and I could fly down, with one of us carrying Aquaphibian. Null may not know who to expect and an air based entrance may allow us an advantage in which we can stop whatever scheme he is planning.

The heroes arrive on-site. The light has steadily been failing, and it is now pitch black. Dick suggests a flyover. The heroes see at least ten large tank-like robots patrolling the grounds. Further outside the perimeter they see what they assume to be the lights of police barricades.

OOC: What does the team want to do? Sierra and GM are in play the next post.

"A fly over would give us an idea as to where to best approach Null from...
While the heroes can see the general layout, due to some floodlights illuminating the bridge, they don't see Dr. Null. A closer inspection reveals 15 tankbots formed into teams of five.

OOC: I kind of already revealed the fly over results. It is dark, quiet, and there are robots on the prowl.

(OOC: Salix, Bront's grandfather died, so he is away for a while--shall I just bring Sierra then?

EDIT: Okay, actually he may be back tomorrow!)

"We'll, he's got to be in the control room" replies Aquaphibian. "Trying to take on all 15 tank-bots probably won't be productive. Let's fly right to door to the complex, and thus fight as few tank-bots as possible before we can get in."
