Of course it has nothing to do with Iron man having a magnetic lock on ticket sales. April 25-27, there was not too much to give Speed racer much trouble, but by waiting until MEGAMOVIE-MAY, the Mach 5 has been sideswiped by a drunk driver in a suit of gold and red titainum armor.Hand of Evil said:Speed Racer crashes and burns, lack of named star and marketing.

The problem with that theory is that it had a budget of $ 140 Million. They wouldn't have put that much up (or have spent the $ for a promo for it during the SuperBowl) if they didn't think it would have universal appeal.Ankh-Morpork Guard said:I'd believe that the studios didn't really bank on Iron Man doing such an amazing job. I mean, its not Spider-Man and there isn't as much appeal beyond those that already know him...so its probably just underestimating things and having no idea how hard Iron Man was going to hit to start things off.
Well, yeah. I'm pretty sure Marvel knew what they were doing with it from the beginning...and SEEING it proved that to me.Silver Moon said:The problem with that theory is that it had a budget of $ 140 Million. I went to see it today, and I have to disagree. I really liked it. The story was a complex mix of lies and betrayal with some excellent martial arts fighting without it degenerating into some horrible Blood Sport ripoff.Crothian said:I'm suprised Redbelt did that well. It was not that good.![]()
