Beyond the Rerisen Tower(DM Iron Sky, Judge: renau1g)

Yishim ignores the gnashing of teeth from the worms thrown at him. Stay where you are, for no escape can be found from my illusions! he screams at the Hungerer farthest away. The undead finds itself caught in a ghastly funhouse, unable to determine how to move and hampered from attacking.

[sblock=Actions]
Take 5 from Aura.

Standard: Maze of Mirrors centered on L14. Crits Hungerer2, misses worm4 due to +2 defenses. Rolls Unfortunately does no damage but both are immobilized and -5 to attack rolls. Should keep them mostly out of the action until EONT.

Warrens Ambush, Round 3

As the Hungerer is beaten and battered, hundreds of worms spill from the tears in its sides and begin thrashing towards the party. Meanwhile, the black runes on its skin flare with dark energies in response to the party's radiant attacks, sending a shockwave of unholy energy out in all directions.

The Hungerer that is the focus of the party's wrath rises to its feet, grabs onto Kaz and pulls the avenger to his chest where worms burrow through into the Avenger's flesh.

The other Hungerer, disoriented and swinging at the air rips off a handful of worms from its arm and hurls them in the party's direction.

The minor dead move up to the group and thrash against Kaz and Fredrock, to insignificant effect.

[sblock=Nature or Dungeoneering 20, minor action]The mushrooms seem to be stirring in response to Kaz's blood hitting the stone near them and red tendrils are stirring amongst them, reaching towards Kaz. Any living creature that starts their turn in them while bloodied will take 5 damage.[/sblock]

GM: Had Kaz move to I17 instead since otherwise he wouldn't be adjacent to the Hungerer.

G18 was occupied by Sprout, so Eithal went to F18 instead.

Also, Maze of Mirrors doesn't seem to have a miss effect, so the worms should be unaffected I believe.

Everyone is adjacent to 1 swarm of Burrow Worms and so will take 5 damage at the start of their turns unless the Worms are killed before then. Kaz is bloodied (and immobilized too) so he'll take 10.

Toeto winces at the nearby worm's attacks, but she remains focused on the task at hand. Kaz looks as if he's about to collapse and, with Salgyn gone, it's up to her to keep him in the fight. She directs her spirit companion to give the Elf some breathing room. The basilisk turns to the prone undead and screeches a piercing cry directly into its face. The zombie goes limp... for now. Toeto's totem gleams at the moment of the basilisk's attack, and both she and Kaz find that their most grievous wounds have closed up.

Not finished, Sprout steps into the center of the assembled party. He turns to the next rerisen dead and cracks his bulky tail against its chest, felling it instantly into a crumpled heap. Toeto's root-like totem gleams for a second time, and its effects are immediately apparent. Each hero is basked in a gentle emerald glow which persists around them like a thin layer of armor. The great majority of Kaz's injuries fade away as if they never existed; Eithal, too, finds that her minor scratches and bruises have disappeared.

OOC: Scarm shifts to H20.
Kaz spends 2 surges and gains 36 hp.
Toeto spends 1 surge and gains 13 hp.
Eithal gains 11 hp (no surge).
Eithal, Fred, and Yishim gain 3 THP.

[sblock=Toeto stats/actions][sblock=actions]Start of turn: Take 5 damage from worm.

AP-Standard: Voice of Battle vs RRD at H18 hits Will 20 (forgot the +2 for CA), "killing" it. Effect: Kaz can shift 2. Nevermind that. On the hit...
Free: Hungry Spirits Totem. Kaz spends a surge and regains 16 hp. Toeto spends a surge and gains 13 hp.

Move: Sprout moves to F19. Toeto will stay put.

Standard: Protecting Strike vs RRD at E18 crits, killing it. Each ally adjacent to Sprout gain 3 THP, which is Eithal, Fred, and Yishim. (I kind of wanted to attack the worm instead, but the RRDs are much easier targets.)

Minor: Healing Spirit on Kaz. He spends a surge and gains 20 hp. Eithal regains 11 hp.[/sblock]Toeto - Female Lizardfolk Shaman 4
Initiative +4, Senses: Insight +6, Perception +11; low-light vision

Conditions

Powers
Spirit's Shield
Call Spirit Companion, Protecting Strike, Voice of Battle
Certain Threat, Healing Spirit x2, Lizardfolk Recovery, Speak with Spirits, Spring Renewal Strike
Hungry Spirits Totem, Protective Roots, Spirit of the Healing Flood

Notes
Any ally adjacent to Toeto's spirit companion regains +3 additional hit points when he or she uses second wind or when Toeto uses a healing power on him or her.
Boon: When Toeto summons Sprout, enemies adjacent to her take 1 radiant damage and allies adjacent to Sprout gain 1 THP.

[sblock=Spirit Companion notes]The spirit companion is treated as a conjuration with some exceptions.
  • It occupies 1 square like an ally does.
  • It is only affected by melee or ranged attacks (not close/area attacks or zones).
  • It is dispersed if it takes 12 or more damage from a single blow, and Toeto takes 7 damage. It is otherwise unaffected by attacks. It uses Toeto's defenses.
  • It cannot be flanked and it does not grant flanking.
  • The companion can move 5 squares whenever Toeto takes a move action. It is not affected by difficult terrain.

OOC: unfortunately, Kaz is grabbed and can't shift, IIRC

Ignoring the rerisen dead, Fredrock moves to engage the closest Hungerer, swinging his hammer like an iron fist. Watch out for the mushrooms..There are tentacles growing there now where blood has splashed.

[sblock=actions]
Start of turn. DR7 negates the 5 damge
Move F18->F17. DR7 negates OA from RRD even if they hit, and being a dwarf, won't be pushed by it... Hungerer can take a AO as well, but will trigger Eithal's mark if he does so
Standard::melee:Iron Fist on Hungerer 1: Misses by 1 Or hit by one if Kaz provides CA (since he couldn't have shifted away): Effect DR4 TEONT
Minor: Dungeoneering check +8: succeeds

OOC: if Kaz couldn't shift, I believe he'd give me CA from flank, and I would have hit...at least I think you can still provide flank while grabbed..if not or he was able to shift, then I missed

OOC: you can push/pull/slide either the grabber or the one grabbed and if they don't end up within reach of the grabber, the grab is broken..but you can't move voluntarily away from a grab without breaking free..so no shifting..if it was a slide...or pull...

OOC: Ah, you're right. I was thinking of Voice of Battle as a kind of forced movement, when it's really not ("shift as a free action", not "slide 2 squares").

I'll adjust my post. Disregard the shift, but Scarm shifts to H20 and the rest of the turn is the same. And on the bright side, Fred's attack hits. <3

Sigh, 12 less hp/THP than I originally had with this turn. Kind of wish I didn't use the AP now.

GM: Hungerer's OA - doesn't trigger Warden's Wrath since Eithal's Immediate Action has already been used: Grasping Arms(-2 marked): 25 AC, hit, 18 damage reduced to 11, doesn't grab because elves are tastier than dwarves; less gristle, much leaner meat.

Eithal still doesn't have her free Expertise feat.
