D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Dispensables)

Bob is squrming out of yet another coil as Sesto unceremoniously drops in. With a laugh Bob holds out his Warhammer to help his ally up while taking an ineffectual swing at the snake with his axe. "Careful friend, this beast is hungry."

OOC: hope I can do this, not strictly in the rules but if nothing else, I'd rather use my action to stand Sesto up. Rule it as you will.
Nevermind, nat 1's. Auto-miss for awesomeness.

Round Three

Bob pulls Sesto free of the snakes as the coils try to tighten around him. The head of the snake darts in, chomping him on the arm, and Bob laughs.

Pyrus strikes a Trog who is in the darkness, who throws a javelin in the general direction of his attacker.

The Trog brandishing a sword is struck by Devan, and then rushes at Pyrus, swinging the blade, as other Trogs throw javelins at the Genasi.

The Trog that knocked Sesto in the pit, runs along the side of the pit, drawing another steel blade, and swings it at Devan. Devan ducks to the side and is struck by a lucky javelin thrown from the darkness.

Other Trogs still work at finding a way around the dome of darkness.

GM: Pyrus and Devan will start their turns next to stinky Trogs. dc12 Con Save or be Poisoned (disadvantage on attacks).

(I made a mistake before, the Trog that fought Sesto & was hit by Devan was T2, not 5, and is now attacking Pyrus.)

Let me know if I missed anything, I was fielding a bunch of questions while doing this round...

Slightly winded, Sesto grabs hold of Bob's warhammer and pulls himself up.
"Thank you, Bob. Am I happy to see your laughing face here?"
Kicking the snake aside, Sesto takes a mighty swing at the snake but only hits the ground as the snake slithers away.

Affected by: Bless | Conditions: None[/sblock] Devan grimaced in pain at the grazing wound he'd just taken. The metal-tipped javelin had surprised him, flying unexpectedly from out of the hemisphere of darkness enveloping the other troglodytes. Either the thrower had been lucky, or else he'd been unlucky. He figured it was probably a mix of the two. Regardless, there was nothing he could do about that particular attacker at the moment.

One of its fellows, a sword-wielding creature that hissed in anger, was taking advantage of the young Inquisitor's split attention. Deflecting his foe's strike with his steel shield at the last second, Devan hastily drew upon his reservoir of power. His eyes blazed as he cursed his enemy with a scathing glance. And in a flash, he drew his longsword in one fluid motion, uttered an elemental phrase, and brought his weapon crashing down upon the foul-smelling troglodyte.

Hexblade's Curse: Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to place a baleful curse on an enemy. As a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The target is cursed for 1 minute. Until the curse ends, you gain the following benefits:
• You gain a bonus to damage rolls against the cursed target. The bonus equals your proficiency bonus.
• Any attack roll you make against the cursed target is a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.
• If the cursed target dies, you regain hit points equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier.
You can't use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.

Pyrus draws from his infernal nature and ignites the world in front of him, engulfing the trog, snake, and a few other trogs beyond.

OOC: Action, Rolling Flame. 20 by 20 ft flame. Starts at T27 and goes to Q24. Everyone takes 5 fire damage, and then another 5 after each turn that ends in that area. Lasts 1 minute, is concentration, so the darkness falls.

Bonus action. Mystical recovery. Forgot to include this in the character sheet. Mystics can use a bonus action when they use psi points to heal that number of psi points. Heal 3 hp.

Round Four

With hammer, axe, and mace, Bob and Sesto drive the snake back in the pit. It strikes at Bob, but gets bashed for the attempt. Then fire rains down from above, and the snake is burnt as Bob and Sesto hug the wall of the pit to avoid the searing flame.

A low rumble like the beginning of thunder reverberates in the tunnel as Devan slashes his opponent, who stabs back at him; lunging with a slashing weapon and missing.

As fire erupts in the area before Pyrus (over the pit, and around the corner), the Trog in front of pyrus squeals and drops, burning on the ground. The other Trogs run from the area, and as the dome of darkness disappears, they regroup with the other Trogs and throw a hail of javelins at the invaders. Many of which clatter to the ground, but a few find their targets.

GM: Pyrus forgot to roll the stinky Trog save, though it wouldn't have effected his turn, (not that the one in front of him smells any better now, he doesn't have to roll this round). Having made the save last round, Devan is immune for 24 hours. This fight is getting desperate for both sides...

OOC: Edit: Devan took 5 more damage from a crit.

Oh, and T1 and T7 didn't take the second 5 fire damage, because they ran out of the fire. (T2 didn't run out, because he was dead.)
