As revealed by Nerd Immersion by deciphering computer code from D&D Beyond!

Fizban the Fabulous is, of course, the accident-prone, befuddled alter-ego of Dragonlance’s god of good dragons, Paladine, the platinum dragon (Dragonlance’s version of Bahamut).

Which makes my guess earlier this year spot on!

UPDATE -- the book now has a description!

Gaming is fun, and fun is for everyone
It absolutely is indicative of meaning. How many BOOKS (not just rpg books) break above 1000 on Amazon? And not all of the 5e books have hit #1. the duration of a low number means a lot more, I’ll give you that.

All of the 5E books do. If it didn't it would mean something, but they've been doing this on announcement time consistently for years.

I just want to throw in, this is not an indicative value of anything... every time a new D&D book has been announced, it jumps to the top of the charts because of people logging their pre-orders all at once. They then tick down as time passes.

The same thing happened to both Strixhaven and Witchlight when they were announced, and now Strixhaven is #13 in D&D, and Witchlight #8. They don't stay as #1 for very long so it's difficult to measure sales until a month or two after actual release.
Just wanted to point out @darjr was talking about #1 in all books, not just D&D, and no all D&D books do or do that.

This early in pre release/pre order? I don't think so, I could be wrong. For instance I don't think the Strixhaven book did.

But even so, that's only for comparison between 5e books. Which longevity of the low rank is still meaningful vs other 5e books.

Against other BOOKS not just RPG books, the info is still useful.

Elder Brain Dragon isn't a Dragon type, its simply a Elder Brain invading a Dragons body. Not every Dragon creature in the book will get a deep dive, some will just get a blurb and stats.

So if your otherwise right that is

1. Red Dragons
2. Blue Dragons
3. Green Dragons
4. Black Dragons
5. White Dragons
6. Gold Dragons
7. Silver
8. Bronze
9. Brass
10. Copper
11. Sapphire
12. Emerald
13. Crystal
14. Topaz
15. Amethyst
16. Dragon Turtle
17. Moonstone/Gleamstone Dragon?
18. ???
19. ???
20. ???

Some Dragons in the book will likely just be templates for other Dragons types, like Steel Dragons were variants for Silver Dragons, and Shadow Dragon & Dracoliches were templates in the MM. Moonstone/Gleamstone Dragons could be the Feywild equivalent of the Shadow Dragon Template, maybe it turns the Dragon its applied to into a Fey.
My guess is that since moonstone dragons are by previous canon gem dragons, we'll see a sixth chromatic and metallic dragon featured as well, most likely steel for metallic, and maybe brown for chromatic, as these seem to be the most popular after the classic five for each. As for the 20th, who knows? I'd like to see dracoliches get some coverage, with info and lore on how dragons become a dracolich, and dracolich lairs with all their undead goodness...

Based on Reddit chatter, it seems that Wyatt was referring to a genuinely new Gleamstone Dragon in terms of the Fey Parron, but that there may also still be Moonstone Drsgons. Getting a big hectic and crowded, if you ask me.

Purple, aka Deep Dragons, I think is more popular then Brown Dragons.

But yeah Steel, aka Waterdeep Dragons are really cool. I even suggested Alexandria Daddario should play a Steel Dragon because her gorgeous steel coloured eyes are perfect for that role. Still Steel Dragon in Waterdeep books was just a template applied to Silver Dragons, so it might be part of the Silver Dragon section as a variant type.

Dracoliches aren't really a type of Dragon, they are a form of undead made from Dragons.

I think the 20th Dragon Type could be Prismatic Dragons, aka the infamous Epic Dragons.

Planar Dragons might just be templates applied to regular Dragons.
