As revealed by Nerd Immersion by deciphering computer code from D&D Beyond!

Fizban the Fabulous is, of course, the accident-prone, befuddled alter-ego of Dragonlance’s god of good dragons, Paladine, the platinum dragon (Dragonlance’s version of Bahamut).

Which makes my guess earlier this year spot on!

UPDATE -- the book now has a description!

Based on Reddit chatter, it seems that Wyatt was referring to a genuinely new Gleamstone Dragon in terms of the Fey Parron, but that there may also still be Moonstone Drsgons. Getting a big hectic and crowded, if you ask me.

Both are Fey themed by the sounds of it, so it could be a broader fey dragon family, so Sunstone maybe as well for example.

Purple, aka Deep Dragons, I think is more popular then Brown Dragons.

But yeah Steel, aka Waterdeep Dragons are really cool. I even suggested Alexandria Daddario should play a Steel Dragon because her gorgeous steel coloured eyes are perfect for that role. Still Steel Dragon in Waterdeep books was just a template applied to Silver Dragons, so it might be part of the Silver Dragon section as a variant type.

Dracoliches aren't really a type of Dragon, they are a form of undead made from Dragons.

I think the 20th Dragon Type could be Prismatic Dragons, aka the infamous Epic Dragons.

Planar Dragons might just be templates applied to regular Dragons.
The steel dragon was likely not given a full stat block in DotMM since that book was already straining its page count. There's no reason why they wouldn't give full details in this book, especially since steel dragons have been around since 1e (when they originally called Greyhawk dragons).

Yes, dracoliches aren't a "type" of dragon per se, but they are fairly unique being undead, and are very popular. So giving us lore on how they and their lairs differ from regular living dragons certainly wouldn't be a waste of space, even at the expense of a living dragon type.

I've heard a bit about Prismatic Dragons before, but I never understood why they were so ridiculously powerful. Anyone have any knowledge as to why this is?

Also, are their breath weapons basically rechargeable Prismatic Sprays? Because if they are, I think that would make sense for why they're so powerful. . .

This early in pre release/pre order? I don't think so, I could be wrong. For instance I don't think the Strixhaven book did.

But even so, that's only for comparison between 5e books. Which longevity of the low rank is still meaningful vs other 5e books.

Against other BOOKS not just RPG books, the info is still useful.

Yeah I don't really think so. For one thing, Fizban has already fallen to #26 in books, showing that the first splurge of pre-orders in a single moment is what measures Amazon, not totals. It's been only one day and the moment is passing.

For another, pre-orders can be spread out over a longer period of time, or happen all at once on the first day (think a cult-classic film vs. a blockbuster). So the announcement day sales are usually going to be when the book performs best, although there's usually a spike on actual release day, or when sales happen. So Strixhaven may have hit number 1 for a moment, or it may never hit 1, but it could end up getting more pre-orders because it got some when first announced, probably a spike today/yesterday, and will get another near release.

The most accurate way of calculating actual sales is on review counts, which only start flowing in after release day.

Moment passing though is in the thousands, not under a hundred. I don't totally disagree with you. It's moment will pass. But under 100? Under 1000? That's still best seller territory longer term.

I don't think strixhave ever got under 150. Maybe not under 200. I've been watching. I... uh... might have a bit of an obsession....
I'm not a perfect watcher though.

I do agree that review counts are good too. Just hard to use as a comparison against other books on Amazon.

I can confirm that their breath weapons are rechargeable Prismatic Sprays.

Or at least I will be able to confirm it if I can find my Epic Level Handbook!

I remember prismatic dragons having a Prismatic Spray breath weapon.
