I think the people who are focused on Lucas' one true vision have long since given up on Disney-owned Star Wars.
That's why step 1 in your master plan.....own the courts

I dont think there's to many Lucas purists. There's legends loyalists, OT purists, casuals etc but comparatively few Lucas/Disney purists.
Blame the prequels or other Star Wars media eg various good games Lucas wasn't involved with directly.
