So who do we think the Archmages will be?

Elminster and Mordeinkien are obvious, but what about Bigsby, Tasha, and Fizban? Szass Tam maybe? Nezram World Walker?

Are there any Archwizards from Ravenloft, Planescape, Spelljammer, and Eberron that would wish to fight Vecna?
The original Wizards Three from Dragon Magazine were Elminster, Mordenkainen and Dalamar (of Kyrnn).

Could be a throwback to them for the nostalgia effect? Though know little if anything about Dalamar.

And they're only 1/3 of the size they used to be, those that are still published that is. Oddly enough, a single issue of Guitar World is $9.99, but I just got a 12-month subscription for $22 on Feb 1st, so go figure.
I suspect a lot of people only ever buy one edition of Guitar world a year and they have little to lose

Yeah, I haven't bought an issue in at least 10 years, I mean how many times do you need a transcription of Stairway to Heaven or Free Bird. My point was prices sometimes seem pretty arbitrary at times.

WotC also just had a big lay-off and their art budget probably got slashed. I think we should consider ourselves fortunate we are even getting printed books at this point..
I would say their budget is fine and the D&D team hasn't been big like the 3.x era since... 4e.

Though my players don't realize it yet, the campaign I am currently running is (in large part) a version of the 2E Rod of Seven Parts boxed set sprinkled with the four Flame the dragon adventures from Dungeon magazine--the second of which uses the Hand and Eye of Vecna as a maguffin. I was toying with rewriting the Vecna bit, but now I think I might turn it up just a bit, in case I decide to run this campaign at some point.
Similar here. I was running Living Greyhawk/Against the Giants in parallel with Age of Worms, Vecna Lives, Earth Dragon/Slaver resurgence in the Pomarj, and RttToEE restoration of Tharizdun. We did run bits of the Rod of Seven Parts and ended up with 1-5 and 7 (from Age of Worms). This book could have some very useful stuff in it.

Wowsers the snark from some people.

Just had a thread complaining how WotC are doing nothing to celebrate the anniversary year. Now we find out they’re planning a high level adventure covering all the published worlds including Greyhawk and we get more snark.

Haters gonna hate.

A 10-20 campaign that could pick up after the many 1-10 campaigns we’ve had sounds like a great idea. I hope they pull it off.

It has a classic villain central to the plot. Let’s hope it features some really interesting and engaging fleshed-out NPCs and each world has a well detailed area to explore and we could have a Great published campaign here 😜
It is possible, it turns out, to not like a lack of plan, and later to not like the implementation of a plan. If it weren't, than anything you do becomes ok, so long as you do something.
