I would not call either of those “soon”. Soon, to me, is early 2026. And we know they’ve filmed it—they just started s5, I think.

That said Star Trek Academy has the January slot.
These days streaming services have a somewhat interesting view on what "soon" entails. Given the release dates for stuff like "Dr. Who", I would think you're used to it by now ;)

Well they don’t say it’s coming “soon”, though. The BBC famously doesn’t promote stuff until it’s too late. When the BBC says “soon” it means “next week”.

So my question stands—what does “soon” mean? Like I said, that sounds to me like early 2026, not summer or autumn.

A capital ship that can shut off the fundamental force of inertia at a whim...the manueverability of those things should be insane.
I don't really care what they 'should' be (it's all made up!)--Star Trek to me was always big naval ships, not starfighters. I wouldn't want to see a Star Destroyer ducking and weaving and spinning either.

I believe they finished filming season 4 in July 2025. With a show like Strange New Worlds, there's a lot of post-production work to be done, and maybe a few reshoots. Season 3 wrapped filming in May 2024, and began to stream in July 2025. Unless something dramatic happens, I would guess that season 4 will start streaming in July or August 2026.
