    [Battletech] MekWars4Ever (Online campaign)

(Note for mods: Not sure if this should be here or in "Gamers Seeking Gamers" since this isn't really for a normal "players and GM" type game. If you think it should be there instead, I understand.) MekWars4Ever Live Cycle Launch-----Saturday May 14, 2011 MekWars is free software which allows...

Somehow I never noticed that before.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Help me establish a city state!

I'm fine with a charisma based Gish, as long as I'm relatively sturdy and playable from level 2 or 3 or so. I'm not as much of a fan of Paladin, if only because I don't want the code holding me back when it comes time to make tough choices (though I could argue that a "good of the many"...

    Ultimate Magus

I agree with most of the post above, except that I see no reason why you couldn't apply metamagic to an already metamagicked spell.

    D&D 3E/3.5 (3.5) Quick Alter Self Question

No. Your type is "Giant." You could only become a Medium, Large, or Huge "Giant" that has 5 HD or less. So basically, you're pretty much limited to ogres.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Help me establish a city state!

After a lengthy discussion in IRC and another on the GITP forums, many people are convinced my plan to create a city state is doomed to fail, since Mulhorand will likely stomp on me like a bug. The common alternate solution is to subvert Free Unther somehow, either through an overt act such as...

    D&D 3E/3.5 D&D 3.5 ruleset, splitting Dexterity

With most weapons, being stronger means being able to swing the weapon faster, meaning it is harder for people to dodge. Imagine a 6 strength person and a 18 strength person both swinging the same great axe. Obviously this doesn't apply to all weapons, but it certainly isn't outside the realm...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Help me establish a city state!

So I'm playing in a game set in war torn Unther, and I had an idea for a backup character: a young adventurer who wants to try to establish his own personal fiefdom. He plans to try to carve out a small chunk of the Untherite country side and populate it with refugees and freed slaves. If...

Encouraging PC depth and group cohesion

I agree with this so much. DM's often don't realize how much simple things like how they describe the game to the players affects how the players prepare. Specifically, saying "hey guys, lets play X module" has a chilling effect on backstory, I've found.

    D&D 3E/3.5 How to play a 3.5 group without a healer?

    Cohort/hireling seems pretty easy.

Psion's Psi crystal -- must this be purchased?

Yes you need the feat. Quote from the psion description in the SRD: "A psicrystal is a fragment of a psionic character’s personality, brought into physical form and a semblance of life (via the Psicrystal Affinity feat)."

    No-Core Game

I agree with the others that removing all PHB spells and feats would DRAMATICALLY and NEGATIVELY impact your gaming experience. Spells would wildly throw off the power balance vis a vis monsters, and feats would take away slews of basic options, as well as prerequisites for many non-Core...

    Babylon 5 CCG

Well it was definitely originally intended for 4 players, and plays best that way. None of it is balanced for two player play, and it would just become a race to see who achieved their goals first. Three players is tough because as soon as they decide to gang up on one person, there isn't much...

    Babylon 5 CCG

Hey me again! I figured it had been a year, so I should give this a quick bump. I found my friend's old William Morgan Clark Nightwatch deck. Anyways, I figured I'd check in again and see if anyone had any new leads on card sources. I've been able to find some boxes online now and then, but...

D&D 3E/3.5 Help me create "Fantasy Sherlock Holmes" in 3.5

If I were to play the character myself, I'd go Beguiler/Diviner/Ultimate Magus, with Able Learner to keep the skills up. :)

    Plants, Intelligence, and Mind-Affecting Effects

Contrast the Ooze and Plant Types. ooze says: Mindless: No Intelligence score, and immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects). Plant says: Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale...

Cashing in on the Dragon Type

Olymorph Many Robject, I believe you mean? That won't be for a while. However the thing the rhymes with Falter Elf suddenly takes on new dimensions, as long as you stay inside 5 HD, meaning most of the smaller wyrmlings. But it is a bit late for the main (ab)use, which is to play a venerable...

    Shapechange and templates

I would say no just because it is a headache. Shapechange is already powerful enough without allowing PCs to mix and match to get the best combination they can. As it is, it is capped based on caster level and not caster HD, so by the time they can cast it, chances are they already have a...
