    Light Radius

It's been a while since I've posted, but our group had a question that we've been houseruling up to this point. In 4e. Light is described as going out to a radius of x (depending on source). After this radius, is it just assumed that the light outside of this area would be the environment's...

    CannonBall Special

I suppose I forgot to mention our orc likes to use enlarge person as much as possible. He ususally is enlarged whenever we try to perform this trick.

    CannonBall Special

In the game my friends and I are playing, we have a half-orc monk and a halfling rogue. One day we encountered a pesky imp that was fifteen feet up. What did we do? The orc threw the dual weilding halfling at the imp like the cannonball special. It was so awesome we did it again. The problem we...

Can you Sneak Attack with Grapple Checks?

When using a garotte you make a grapple check, and IIRC you can apply your SA damage to it, so assuming that is correct, technically you could apply SA in a grapple.

    Help with trapmaking

I hadn't put too much thought into what I was going for, but I think your description works perfectly (ewok level traps). Part of the problem with the whole traps like logs swinging out and crushing foes, or pits with spikes, is that they probably would take a long time (unless you had a...

    Help with trapmaking

I'll just put what I have on the table: -I am playing the "World's Largest Dungeon Campaign" -I put ranks into craft(trapmaking) -Thusfar, I have only used it to reset a trap (unemphatic woo). My problem is this: In my OPINION (mind the caps, I don't know enough html to underline or italicize)...

    24 Day 6 *SPOILERS*

I was also able to catch a special early preview of the first two episodes of "24" and it was an AMAZING start to the new season! I hope the release of Jack by the Chinese is more than simply "to catch one bad guy." I have a feeling that more is at stake and that we have not seen the last of the...

    Booby Traps

I know. I'm trying to make a Rousseau type character, and unfortunately craft (trapmaking) might as well be an NPC skill. It takes to long to craft unless you are maxed at high levels and have at least a couple of days to do so... I just wanna make some quick and dirty speed bumps

    Booby Traps

Does anyone know the rules for making booby traps from the DMG II? IIRC there are rules about making CR 1/2 traps that are essentially booby traps. If you have the info, I thank you in advance for helping me out. I want my character to be able to make incredibly simple traps to assist in keeping...

    Paladin Variants

Thanks alot, I talked to my DM/roommate and he was wondering what you add to the variant to balance the loss of spells, mostly out of curiosity... I've also looked at some spells from other sources (CW, CD, CA, and PHB II) and found some spells worth time... so all is not lost, and since I've...

    Paladin Variants

I am playing a paladin in our new campaign and I posed a question to my DM. The question: "how's the variant paladin in Complete Warrior look to you?" He okayed with a wary tone. He feels that the loss of spell casting isn't worth the benefits of the variant (pp 13 of CW). I never play spell...

    Lost: learn anything new?

Please correct me if I'm wrong: I watched the bonus features of Season Two, and saw the producers of the show. That was before watching Orientation. Now I could swear that Dr. McGroot? was played by Jack Bender. Is this correct, or am I totally blind?

    AC sponge

I'm looking for a manuever or feat that allows a character to essentially jump infront of an attack made on another character. I'm Playing a paladin, with my schtick being a protector. I was wonder if there is a feat/maneuver/class ability/ whatever that can make it so that my paladin can take...

    Bard with a whip

If it doesn't interfere with your spellcasting, use a locking gauntlet. Althought the whip gives you a +2 to disarm attemps, the -4 for being light AND -4 for being one handed kills the disarms...

So, how do low-level adventurers fight swarms, exactly?

My DM felt that it was needed to apply the fiendish template to a swarm of spiders... No fire damage, no weapon damage, and swarm abilities.... It's a good thing he let us trap them in a room....until they found a way out during another battle (he forgot they do automatic damage, otherwise we...

    buoyancy

A DC 6 swim check keeps you afloat, meaning anybody can stay afloat unless they are wearing armor or thrashing wildly as a jellyfish swims by (rolling a 1)... As far as I know, there are no specific rules for buoyancy, so the low DC swim check is the "mechanic" for buoyancy...

    Sneak Attack vs. DR

Ummmm....How'd you get 7 points of damage from SA? Can strength be applied to SA?

    Cost of Magic Item Enchanment

Ability damage with no save?!?! What level is the character who's using this? Also, how times is it usable? If it's on command or continuous: SRD- Spell level × caster level × 2,000 gp. I don't know what spell you are trying to mimic, sound like a saveless poison spell.

    The Laws of Physics

E=Earth=1 4ExG ----- 4E^2 4 -- 16 1 - Gravity 4 Your planet would need 4 times as much mass to have Earth gravity, and 16 times as much mass to have 4x gravity. It's a weak force (not too many mitochlorians). Plus, any player brought there will drown in the atmosphere, so I hope they...
