    Dragon Reflections #39

I love these articles. This particular issue was more impactful to my high school gaming group than most. The Anti-Paladin and Good Hits and Bad Misses became staples in our games for years to come. I still have a photo-copy of the critical hit/fumble charts in my files for ready reference...

D&D General Art that exemplifies D&D to you.

D'oh. Good catch. To make up for it I will now include an actual Dee piece...

D&D General Art that exemplifies D&D to you.

Elmore defined D&D art for an entire generation. Jeff Dee also had a distinctive style that I always enjoyed.

D&D 5E In your Years of Gaming, How many Psionic Characters did you See played

I made a deal with my players, they didnt play psionic classes/characters and I didnt use psionic bad guys (with the exception of mind flayers as they have always had mechanics that worked without the full psionic ecosystem). That kept psionics at bay for all but two campaigns over the last 32...

What are your favorite (and least favorite) Star Wars sequences or scenes?

Best: The lightsaber battle between Luke and Vader in Cloud City. Luke never had a chance but his determination and commitment in a doomed situation is great. - ESB The Luke, Vader, Emperor confrontation. The payoff that makes 3 movies into one great story. - ROTJ The Asteroid Chase...

    Greyhawk Collector's Guide

Great list! I was always a fan of the Greyhawk setting and it was definitely a walk down memory lane to review this list. The only error that I could see though was that X1 is not set in Greyhawk. It is set in Mystara.

    What the Hell?

I am surprised there was no reference to Inferno. Judges Guild beat Ed to the punch by several years.

    D&D 5E 10HP Bonus for Level 1 Characters. Thoughts?

Years ago (mid-90s, 2ed) I house ruled that characters start with hit points equal to their Con score. It made level 1-3 characters more robust and had almost no long term impact on the game.

    Average final party level?

In almost 25 years of DM'ing I have never presided over a TPK during my ongoing campaigns (I have done it twice with one-off sessions of Tomb of Horrors, but that almost goes without saying ;) ). During my years of running games I have run 8 campaigns, of which 5 ran the course of the story I...

    Atlanta FLGS?

Thanks for the suggestions. I made it to Dr. No and Sword & Phoenix yesterday. Nice shops, good selection of new and used material. Didnt end up getting anything but saw some stuff that is now on my wishlist for GenCon next month. I plan to check out the Warroom the next time I am in town. Pete

    Atlanta FLGS?

I am visiting Atlanta, GA for the week and was looking for any suggestions on good/cool/interesting FLGS. I am staying just off of exit 260 on I-75 but I have time to kill so I dont mind driving a bit. If suggestions could include an address (for mapquest) or phone number that would be great...

what does a CLW potion taste like in your world?

In my game healing/cure potions are a viscous yellow liquid that smells and tastes awful. In the tradition of cod liver oil, medicine should not taste good ;) The only notable variation of this is that dwarven clerics have developed a healing potion that looks and tastes remarkably like dark...

Have you used Artifacts in your games?

I love artifacts as story hooks I have used artifacts a lot in my games. Over the past 15 years of running the same campaign world I have used one Orb of Dragonkind, the Sword of Kas, the Hand of Vecna, the Throne of the Gods, the Codex of Infinite Planes, Blackrazor, Wave, and Whelm. I also...

    Resurrection Survival Returns!

In the 15+ years I have been running the same D&D campaign I have always used the same rule regarding character death and ressurection. When a character is brought back to life they lose a point of CON. This provides an explicit limit on the number of times a player can come back to life as...

    Post Your House Rules

My house rules doc As requested, I have attached a copy of my house rules doc. It is very much a work in progress and there a couple of things that will be added over the next few months that will help a lot: 1. Maps. Currently the geography section does not have the maps (they are...

    Post Your House Rules

CombatWombat51, I would love to see what you have done. I am working on something similar and am currently up around 75 pages but I am always interested in seeing what others have done. What is the file type? Before anyone comments on 75 pages being way to many house rules, I agree. The vast...
