1st Edition Greyhawk Campaign

In honor of Gary's death, I'm preparing a 1st edition Greyhawk campaign made up entirely of the classic modules. Any advice on which ones are -mandatory- and what order in which to run them?

For a Gygax tribute 1e campaign

Start with Temple of Elemental Evil.

Perhaps have side quests for the Lost Temple of Tharizdun.

Go through Against the Giants which leads directly to Descent into the Depths of the Earth.

Perhaps finish the campaign with the Tomb of Horrors.

the classics are Village of Homlet/Temple of Elemental Evil

or Against the Giants, followed by Descent/Vault of the Drow/Queen of Spiders.

and then there is Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun (spell?).

and for something really weird Expedition to the Barrier Peaks

I'll offer some other suggestions:

1. Start with T1, and link B2 in as part of the environs in/around Verbobonc, perhaps leading to the monastery from the 1e DMG (the temple of the fire opal, appears in 3.0 version in Dungeon 84), and then leading to Rob Kuntz's Dark Chateau (from TLG)
2. From the chateau, enter your own version of Castle Greyhawk, and delve deeply into homebrew materials, perhaps based off the Dungeon and Outdoor Geomorphs (look at Rob Kuntz levels from Maure Castle and WG5 for inspirational style and flavor, though they're higher level than you need here)
3. exit the Castle via some treasure maps to a combined hoard that points to WG4 and S4, which are your only "mid-level" EGG module options
4. As PCs rise in level in your dungeons, include EX1, EX2, S3, and WG6 as possible destinations, along with Melnibone, Dying Earth, Oz, ERB's Mars, and other such non-standard planes/worlds (perhaps even GW1, Legion of Gold from Gamma World, or
   challenges from Gygax's Hall of Many Panes [TLG])
5. Conclude with the G and D modules, and instead of routing to Q1 as the finale, convert S1 instead into a drowic-locale of the Elder Elemental God (perhaps Acererak is the last EHP of the EEG...)
