I got my email and tried to order, but the order page only shows the 30% discount, not the 40%.
Does this work with preorder's? It says you have to purchase within 7 days.

Remember,
1) You will get to see the final price (and see if ends up as 40%) before your actual order confirmation.
2) Even if you place the order, you can always cancel it before it ships.
Finally, if you don't get the last 10% by placing your order, you will probably have to contact Amazon.com's customer support.

Well, I did it (and got the discount). My only concern is that it's showing the shipping date as April 1 - April 8, 2004. Is anyone else getting this? If not, I may need to cancel...

Nope, nothing else could have done it- I ordered just the three core books and the latest Harry Potter book (which shouldn't be the problem). *sigh*

My order shows a ship date of July 8, 2003.
I wouldn't worry too much about the ship date, unless you want them ASAP and not willing to risk an extra 1 to 2 day delay. If you're going for the free shipping anyway, keep your order and verify that it ships when the books are officially released.
Then if there's a problem you can cancel your order, order somewhere else, and still get it in good time (albeit at a slightly greater cost).
