[4e] Border Epic: Aftermath of the Celestial War (Dead.)

It has always been a well defended city, frequently subjected to drow raids. It is not adjacent to the city you are in, but there is some trade between them. At a few hundred mile difference there is at most an hour change,

With the death of Bahamut, one military commander attempted a coup, and provoked a short civil war. The old government won fairly quickly, but not without cost. The city is straggling to put itself back together, but has been at peace for the last six months. The city has still a strong elven influence, and has refused to let any of drow refugees settle there.

Aridha is well know from her activities in the area. Kazin and Elithiel will be recognized by reputation, Dunn Halfaxe will be known only if the bard stories about him have reached here in the last season. Any of you might have contacts or the portal code for the city. The dominate temples are Kord and Coreleon. The current ranking priestess of Coreleon is the elf Shelvara.

- yeah high level D&D leans to sci-fi

Technology being indistinguishable from magic and all...

I gotta say, EH, that game quote in your sig makes me laugh every time I read it. Just thought you should know. :)

Im glad you like them :)

The hands conversation and the dragon quote are actually from 2 different campaigns. The hand conversation was exactly what it sounded like, with the whole table stunned at D’s comment. His assurance that he wasn’t actually carrying a dozen hands with him, instead leaving them to cure, did not help.

The dragon tale was even more absurd, and I wrote it all out in “stupidest things done by a party” thread. We were appointed emissaries to a silver dragon, and he threw us a welcome feast. With the best intentions the party messed up, a lot. I was playing the character who got caught stuffing cake in his pockets.
We really did deserve the title.
I had a hard time not cracking up at work remembering it again.

a short pause here for more RP if you like.
have we lost Zeig already? (last activity dec 4) A replacement PC can be added here or as you approach the site. Alternatly you can move on with 5.
opinions?

I had not taken shadow walk into account - are you planning on using it to get through the underdark? Can it take you through an occupied drow city all the way to the "Egg"?
I need to doublecheck its capabilities when I have books handy.

Seeing as we may have lost a warlord, another leader would be best I would think. Walking dad did volunteer as an alternate. Either way we are at the magic number of five party members, with all roles filled. In my exp here, the larger the party, the slower the game, the quicker the game is to die. This could be different though.

Looking at shadow walk, we could make it there, but it doesn't look like, we would be free of threats if we did, it just eliminates the time factor.

Evo is right about one point, it is the slower the game, the more chance it is to die. By experience, the longest games I have played (over two years at least), we had a solid core of PC (3 that survived all the way) and some other players that was coming and going (no more then 3 more, but I think we saw 7 or 8 of them).

The key is not to wait too much for slow poster. Either keep them in background, or NPC them when really necessary. A group between 3 and 6 is the best for PbP.

That was my 2 copper about that subject.

By the way, I'm still spying on you and I can join up if you see it necessary.

I'm here and ready, if you need me. I would need some assistance with equipment for my Dragonborn Cleric of Bahamut (who somehow retained his powers) on the way to (demi)godhood :)

walking dad, go ahead and stat up the cleric, and add him to the rogues gallery.
we will keep playing with five for now, but your on deck. What kind of help do you need with equipment?
You have items lvl 21,20,19 and 125,000 gp to spend.
[sblock] your retention of power/faith is probably through the intervention of one of Bahamut's exarchs - his seven gold dragon companions. Its likely that you took part in the final battles where most of them were slain by drow, evil adventures or Tiamat's exacrhs. [/sblock]
