so Nac was a defender and our current cleric is ranged.
Walking Dad your going melee right? - superior weapons from the AV are good if your going 2 handed weapons, but bastard sword is the best 1-handed for a paladin.

+4 Blade of Bahamut (lvl 19) heavy blade.
crit +1d10
Property: acts as +4 holy symbol
Power (daily, standard, force) close blast 5 , Chr v reflex 2d8+chr (enemies)
allies in blast heal Chr+wis mods.
its not optimized, but very themey.

the Dragonscale of Bahamut (holy symbol) is kinda lame.

Hello! I have a quandry.

I started out rolling Athletics for Aridha, and failed by 2. So I was getting ready to post her humiliation (seriously, InvisCastle seems like it really weights low sometimes :)), when I thought...hey....what if her kitty can Aid Another? She's in the margin of error for that.

But that also seemed like it might be a bit unfair compared to those who lack kitties. But then again, this is her class feature...

So! The question is this: Can her beast companion Aid Another? The cat's Athletics bonus is +19.

If not, I have a followup question.

My initial decision to roll Athletics was in error, because Aridha's Perception bonus is actually better. Now a roll of 6 would still fail Perception by 1...BUT! She has a power that lets both her and her beast roll any Perception check, and if one succeeds, both do. Now beast's Perception is a measly +14...but it's still marginally possible for it to pull a 15 or better out and save the day.

So! If beast can't aid another on Athletics...can I decide to change it to a Perception roll instead, and go for the long shot save?

...

Or should I just man up and take my punishment? (^_^)

If you want a replacement defender, I was going to play a Dragonborn Paladin of Bahamut who also somehow retained his powers. Perhaps me and Walking Dad could come in together to shore up the group?

I had written a secretive mission into my earlier planned backstory that I was away on when Bahamut died. Perhaps we both were on this mission, and the mission somehow related to how we retained our powers?

Shayuri you selected athletics, so you should stick with that.
I will however let your cat make a second check (dc29) to give you the aid another bonus. Win or lose it should make a good story.

Shaggy - see the Sblock for walking dad, and sketch out a story. If he agrees we can add you both, probably before the first round of combat.
What destiny are you going for?

I missed that sblock. Woops. Sounds cool though.

I had originally considered Demigod, but if too many are doing that, would you allow Eternal Defender (Martial Power, 153) even though I am only a fighter through multi-classing?

well you can go for demi-god, but it will become a competition at one its likely that not all will make it. Eternal defender is fine, the 1st multi-class feat makes you eligible for new destines.

I was unsure about defender, as the multi-class feat only explicitly states that it opens you up for feats and paragon paths.

[sblock=Backgound idea]

Rhogar and Walking Dad's character were both members of a holy band of Seven Dragonborn, sworn to Bahamut's service called the The Vigilant. In the great celestial war we completed many different missions on behalf of Bahamut's 7 Gold-Dragon Exarchs and we were on the battlefield when Bahamut died. His death caused havok among the good side, and the initial press of the forces of evil was devastating. One of the last surviving Exarchs found the surviving members of the order amidst the chaos of battle. The Exarch gave one of us (probably Walking Dad's cleric) an orb which the Exarch said contained the remains of Bahamut's Divine essence--we were tasked with guarding it with our lives and keeping it from the forces of darkness. All seven agreed. The exarch left to continue the battle and guard our escape before any vile forces could determine that we had the last hope of Bahamut in our posession.

That was then. In the intervening year, the Vigilant have been haunted by the silence of Bahamut and his Exarchs. Every effort to discover what to do with the last essence has met with failure. When the Vigilant determined that another diety had also died, they decided to make their way to the site of Lolth's death to search for clues. Along the way, some force discovered what the Vigilant carried, and after countless attacks, only two of the seven tasked with the protection of the Last Essence survive. Hunted, they press on through the underdark, hoping beyond all hope that any success could ever come their way. Then, from beyond his grave in the astral sea, Bahamut smiles upon the last remaining members of the Vigilant, and they see a light in the darkness...a band of adventurer's, heading their way...

This aligns us with the other heroes, gives us similar motives, and explains how we still have our divine powers--through the Last Essence.[/sblock]
