Is there anything on mounts in the PHB or PHB2?

Yes, there is quite a bit on mounts and mounted combat. However, I would advise for now that everyone participating in the adventure work on fleshing out their characters / acquiring items/ writing the backstories. There will be plenty of time to work out mounts and other things like PC Keeps and castles, etc, at a later date.

One of my leisure activities tonight will be watching NFL football and working on the storyline, I'll keep everyone posted. Until then, use this thread as sort of an OOC to ask me questions (as everyone has been doing) and inquiring about my ideas.
 


But a keep or a castle totally changes how I make the character, as having a base of operations would change how a person developed.

Just like, someone with a mount the are close to emotionally, may have developed skills riding the mount, and someone without one, hasn't.

Before I officially submit a character I'd like to make their backstory, and shape their mechanics to fit that story.

Speaking of the story, thanks for the tidbit, it got me thinking. I'm going to make myself late to class if I say anymore, but I'll check in after class and edit this.
 

Still no where near finished, but tweaked the ability scores slightly and added two feats... sorry it's taking so long.

Ok, I sort of understand where you are coming from CaBaNa. For the purposes of this adventure, you will not be able to use a mount. You may certainly have one in your backstory (being sure to take the proper feats if you ever wanted to use it in combat, etc), but when you step into Feydorwin, your mount will not be with you.

And my comment about the castle/keep will be for a later part of this adventure. For simplicitie's sake, we'll just say that none of you own a keep/castle (yet).
 

Initial Information

Currently working on an OOC post, will hope to have it up by the middle of next week (or earlier if time allows). For now, however, if each of you who plan on joining this adventure could organize your characters into the following format, it would be much appreciated (you do not have to re-post your characters in this thread, I will ask for you to repost them in the OOC). Please be sure to read inside of the sblocks, I have some specifics I would like.;

This sblock should contain a physical description of your character. Things like hair, eyes, facial features, tatoos or other markings, typical clothing/armor should be included here. Try to make it a descriptive as possible, but you don't really have to go overboard.

Please attempt to answer the following questions about your character (in as much detail as you can muster):

1. What is your character's general mood? Is she happy/mopey, or is she sarcastic and/or oblivious?

2. Does your character have a "Burning Drive?" Such as, does he wish to eradicate all the gnolls in the world, starting with the Demon Prince, or is it a desire to aquire all the magical scrolls in the world? Think big, remember, you've had 11 levels of adventure up to this point, so you are allowed to have lofty goals.

3. Has your character ever been in love or lost a Loved One? How did he/she react to this? Are they open to love again, or have they closed off their minds to it? If they haven't, why hasn't he/she attempted to love?

This section will be rather long. In here, please describe (in as much detail as you like) the history of your character. How did your character get to be level 11? You don't have to go into extrodaniary detail, but should give me a broad sense of what happened. You should also describe your weaponry in terms of legend and tales, as by now (level 11), people have surely made up stories about how your +3 sword of awesomeness has come into existance.

In this adventure, each party member will be unknown to each other at the very beginning. As such, you should try to describe to me why you got separated from your original party. Did you get mad after one of them betrayed you? Were you the only survivor after fighting off an army of evil Dragonborn? Be creative and remember; think BIG!

Once again, you do not have to post this information now. If you want me to look at it I certainly will, but this is just some info so you can begin to organize your characters. Forgot to mention Characters will be created using the standard 22 point buy, standard wealth.

For the time being, I am currently NOT recruiting any others players than those who have already posted interest.

I'm mulling over two self-made items I'd like to have. I'll work out suggested details, and sblock them here for you or PM, when I have them figured out.
 

Character Name: Kildrak Steelbark

Kildrak is a stocky dwarf with emerald eyes, coal black hair and an unhealthy pale complexion. He has a mark showing a centipede above his left brow. On adventure (what he always is) he wears a hide armor, but you should more say, 'shell', because it is made from the chitin of monstrous underdark beetles. He doesn't usually carry any weapons, but a black totem, showing bats and other creatures of darkness.

Non-trusting, paranoid and moody would be the terms to describe Kildrak. But many are surprised by hearing the first time his humorous and sarcastic remarks. This is the true Kildrak, not the bitter avenger he is now, back before the darkness befall his clan and the death of all his loved ones, including his daughter...

Kildrak was the High Tender of the fungus gardens of his clan. He also oversaw the movement of the beetle herds. Both built the foundation for the food of his rather deep dwelling clan. After living most of his time outside the hall, he finally found love, married and was given a daughter. His life was better than ever.

But as he one day returned from a days long trip, herding the beetles, the hall stand in flame. Raided by a combination of the different kind of scum of the underdark, they have to fallen to an attack lead by either mind flayers or aboleths.

Searching all clues, he slew F'rylzar the Night Witch, a famous drow sorceress and their blink beetle pet. There he acquired the totem of the night and the material for crafting his armor.

A loner mostly now by choice, he only joins adventurer parties to accomplish goals he has no chance to reach on his own. Maybe he will finally find a group that is more for him than a collection of assets.

Nice post, Walking. Thanks for formatting it like that. You have some interesting backstory, and I can't wait to see it fleshed out. I also hope there is still interest in this thread since we haven't gotten too many more questions/posts. I should have (as I said before) something for everyone soon.
