Ari Marmell's name is not on the list... did he get the rules so that he could work as a free lancer, but not to playtest them?

We playtested, in as much as our group offered some feedback, and were all under playtester NDA. But I got the rules via different channels, since I got them primarily as a freelancer, not a playtester.

I do feel bad that my group didn't get their names on there, though.

Thanks for satisfying my idle curiosity! :)

I sincerely doubt that this is the case, unless you playtested a really small subset of the rules... ;)

I met a playtester at a 4E demo session, and I came to the conclusion that this was certainly the case. Their knowledge of the rules didn't really extend any further than my own, and on one occassion, I knew a rule better.

It seems the playtesters weren't running around with beta copies of a full player's handbook, just a small subset of rules.

It's clear from the parcival42's post that his group got a partial rule set.

However, we know from the blog post at aintitcoolnews that their group had a judge with copies of the core books.

From that, we can assume that not all playtest groups are the same.

Playtesters can't really give specifics til June, but I can say that my playtest experience was definitely different from parcival42's.
