4E tactical game (recruitment closed)

Both add to ac/reflex, so it came down to either 16 dex/12 int or 12dex/16 int. the differences are:
high Dex: +2 Thievery, Stealth, Initiative
high Int: 8 temp hp from vampiric embrace instead of 6.

The choice wasn't hard.

Well... 2 extra temp hp from vamp embrace, and +2 to every other int-based warlock power, of which there are many.

Whichever way you go is fine. I don't really care - we'll see whether your build holds up either way. Don't expect too many 'easy' level fights in this game. Most of the ones I've whipped up so far are between 'standard' and 'hard' on the chart.

which I won't be using. I looked at the ones up to lvl 6 and none of them jumped out at me.
Most of the ones I liked are con based, which is great for my hp. ;)

By int-based, I meant the secondary effects. There are no Warlock attacks that use int for the attack roll. Still, it's only the encounter-level powers that have them and a +2 shouldn't break the game wide open. If you're happy with the Dex, that's good enough for me. We'll see if I can't make you regret not having those 2 temp hp :]

They are all con or cha based. But on some levels, powers of your pact get an extra kicker based on int. But stealth (dex based)is a great skill in combo with shadowwalk.

Perfectly devious, and the game hasn't even started. I'm starting to wonder what we've signed up for. ;)

:halo: I can't imagine what you mean!

Seriously though, I do expect the game to be pretty rough. And if it turns out to be a walk in the park, I'll tighten the screws a little. An easy tactical game isn't much fun, IMO. The fun comes from fighting against long odds and pulling out a victory through cleverness and skill.

Now that was a fast opening and closing. Glad to see more 4e games starting up.

I'd like to put myself up for (2nd) alt status.

A-yes. With 4e new, there's definitly demand for no-frills tactical games for getting to know the rules inside-out and discuss builds. I think you really, really need to start more of these Zurai!!!
