D&D 5E 5e Basic Rules poll

I would say that this is precisely what I was looking for. I last played seriously in 2nd ed, and while I have enjoyed occasional games of both PF and 4th ed. none of the quite scratched my itch. 10/10.

This game is scratching my 3.x itch, my Castles and Crusades itch, and even my Dungeon World itch. How does it do that?

I apparently did a good job managing my expectations, because it's exactly what I expected. So definitely no love or hatred, just a "yup" and moving on.

If I end up playing it again by some weird quirk of fate, I'll form a more detailed opinion.

I haven't bought any new D&D stuff in 20 years, preferring 1e with some 2e elements all this time. This is the first edition since then I've had fun playing, and most definitely will by buying it. The parts that I'm not fond of are really easy to houserule away, so it's a win for me.

The D&D Basic Rules are not for me. Not in a Hate It way, just in a meh way.
On the other hand, the full 5E game (as in the PHB-MM-DMG) has me very excited. I can't wait to start playing!
