Magic Item Compendiums are the death knell for all D&D editions. I will now sit 4e out even though it looked cool.

Well, from a certain point of view, it is... after all they say that release compendium books is the hallmark of the end of an edition. Maybe it's not "ha ha" funny...

Seriously, though. I think that calling it a Compendium might be a bad idea, since the previous ones took items from previous books and, well, combined them. Maybe "Magic Item Treasury" might be better?

On a lighter note, I think it's not the magic item compendia of the world you have to look out for, it's the Rules Compendium-like products.

Ted McGinley

It is kinda funny, but only if you know the Ted McGinley effect. The guy shows up on a sit-com and it gets cancelled. So, when a show opens with him in it, you chuckle that "Oh, this show is doomed".
