Well, from a certain point of view, it is... after all they say that release compendium books is the hallmark of the end of an edition. Maybe it's not "ha ha" funny... :)

Seriously, though. I think that calling it a Compendium might be a bad idea, since the previous ones took items from previous books and, well, combined them. Maybe "Magic Item Treasury" might be better?

Ooh, they should call it Treasure Type [whatever the type was that got you the most magical doo-dads in 1st Edition].

Just not the same edition.


On a lighter note, I think it's not the magic item compendia of the world you have to look out for, it's the Rules Compendium-like products.

Wait a minute. "Core Rulebook"? I see what they did there! Everybody panic!

Ted McGinley

It is kinda funny, but only if you know the Ted McGinley effect. The guy shows up on a sit-com and it gets cancelled. So, when a show opens with him in it, you chuckle that "Oh, this show is doomed".
