Thank you all for the compliments. And Ruleslaywer, I think I'm currently fine on BBEGs. I have quite a few of them lined up in the wings, waiting paitently for their turn to make my players miserable. I do appreciate the offer, though.

Oh, and...

One last question: I'm not asking for a convertion as much as a small correction: I found the MM2 Sirine to be an interesting fey (*gets hit by flying shoes for being an hentai* :p ), but its CR is way too high - I don't think the beautiful, scantily clad marine girl could last even two rounds against four 5th level chars (Yeah, I know she isn't designed for combat, but hey...). Keeping her stats the way they are, what do you think would be the right CR?

Thanks for any answer, and peace out!
I'd say that a sirene as written would probably be CR 3, provided you give her DR 10/cold iron (which seems fairly standard for fey). And, as you know, she's still better suited for intrigue and roleplaying than a straight fight.

And don't worry about being a hentai. Sea nymphs need love too.

Demiurge out.

I just ran across this thread when I happened to be using some Great Feyrs in my current adventure. Its too late for me to test out your changes but I thought I should point out that all the save DC's in your version are far too high. For CR 13, DC 26 is really tough to make. Especially when he can force the entire party to make saves every round.

The abilities themselves are pretty nasty too, especially Hatred/Sorrow (so why bother with Despair?)

Other than that, the base stats and other abilities of it look pretty good. Kudos for all the work on this and other poor over-CR'd monsters.

Good point. I was basing the CR somewhat on a fully advanced feyr, without too much regard for the special abilities. That was unwise. I reduced the great feyr's Cha by 2, putting the DCs at 25. More pertinently, I raised the CR of the beasts to 15. By that level, a DC 25 Will save is tough, but doable. I also gave the ability the "save successfully and be immune" trait, so people who save once can't be affected later in the fight.

Demiurge out.
