A post count question...

OK here's a tricky question.

A thread gets started in general discussion. You post there. The thread gets moved to the OT forum, where post count is off. What happenes to those people who posted in the thread before it got moved?

I have no idea. My guess? Initially the thread count is updated, and when we periodically reindex the boards that thread count is reduced again. I wouldn't swear to it, though.

The universe collapses under it's own weight? Well, whatever happens I wouldn't want to be standing in the immediate vicinity. It could be messy.

Tested it.

A test thread in Meta increased my post count to 5,918. Moving it to the Hive didn't impact the post count.

Now I've deleted it. And my new post count (including a +1 increase for this post) is...

edit - 5,919. Makes sense, I suppose.

Once it gets moved, all the "extra" post counts go to Crothian.
That was hilarious! Fortunately, I did not have anything to spew out of my mouth or nose at the time.

Naw, when that happens, it will be caused by all the people hoarding complete runs of National Geographic magazine.
Ahem! And exactly what is wrong with my near compelte collection of National Geographic? I value that almost as much as my collection of Spiderman comics!
