A Question about Fractal Mapper

I just downloaded the trial version of Fractal Mapper, and I'm pretty impressed with except for one small problem. I was doing the Cavern tutorial, and when I try to show the grid lines in an object (a fractal cavern room), the program locks up. Win2K doesn't crash, but I have to shut down the application.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? One of the patches for version 6 mentions something about some grid line problems, but I don't know if it corrects the problem I am experiencing or not. Unfortunately, the patch won't work on the Trial version and I don't want to buy the full version if it won't work for me.

Any insight from experienced Fractal Mapper users?

I've had FM6 for a couple of months now and use it fairly extensively. I've just tried to recreate your error on my Win 2k Pro machine and it did not occur.

Having said that, I have had odd crashes from time to time which can be annoying. On the whole though I'd thoroughly recommend the package. All the maps on my web page have been drawn with it and I am no artist

[Edit] BTW If you email the nbos customer service they are pretty good at responding and are generally very helpful.

Just a quick note on my use of fractal mapper. I havent tried the demo vers.... I researched the program for months and read reviews / user messages about it. I just bought it outright. I went through all of the tutorials including the one you mentioned and had no problems or errors. I use win 98 though so that may make a difference. However I will also add that this program is one of the best programs ive bought in some time. I highly recomend it.
