Adv: A Night at the Opera; Judge TwoHeadsBarking

"There is beauty and effectiveness in simplicity. Like the water that flows by the easiest path to the ocean." replies the sorceror. He chuckles "But there are times when a flood is needed to overcome a given 'obstacle'"

-''Is this guy becoming more intelligible or am I just getting used to it?'' Hadrak asks the others.

[sblock=OOC]I am also short one approval. Is renaug1 a judge? Because if so any approver would do.[/sblock]

''He certainly has backup, but that's only sensible. Unless... Damn it, why not just meet us in a crowded inn. A nice neutral ground, instead of a perfect ambush spot.'' Hadrak whispers to his nearby allies.

Hadrak hesistates a moment. It's not very respectful to your employer to second guess him and make him jump through hoops... But then it's not very respectful of him to Hadrak and his allies at such a disadvantage either.

-''Dane, something's not right. Don't touch the bag just yet. Have him open the bag for you.'' Hadrak calls out.

Sheng's face remains impassible, although Hadrak's words have reached his ears and have already triggered a storm of thoughts. "Drop whatever charade you have Alfred. I recommend you deliver the pay and be on your way. It would be foolish of you to try to betray ones such as us. Do not force us to take the gold from you, because we will certainly do so."

"What?" Alfred asks. "What are you talking about?" he hands the gold to Dane.

Uh, wha? OK. Shoa da gold.

Dane takes a look as to what is in the bag. He sees that its full fo gold and begins to move back to the party.

Qynn stands back, ready to run away in an emergency. He knows that he is the weakest member of the party and his body feels sore from the last fight.

Incarnation shakes his head at Sheng. You wield words as a cudgel when you have demonstrated you can use them like a knife. One may cost us. The warforged stays back, waiting for the scene to play out.

"There is beauty and effectiveness in simplicity. Like the water that flows by the easiest path to the ocean." replies the sorceror. He chuckles "But there are times when a flood is needed to overcome a given 'obstacle'"

''Is this guy becoming more intelligible or am I just getting used to it?'' Hadrak asks the others.

From around the corner of the residence and the alley across the way comes a sudden thunder of feet. A small mob of hairy humans come into view and seem to be quickly shfiting. Soon enough they do not appear as humans at all by humanoid rats. There comes a cry of "Kill the Knicks!" almost overlapping with one rat pointing a finger or recognition toward Rurdev and Incarnation. "Theives!"

A counter response is immediate. A dwarf bust through the back door of the cheese shop hammer held high, another comes out the front. Two archers quickly stand on the rough looking for targets and a third appears on the balcony.

Between the two groups stands the party.

[sblock=Note on Approvals, please read]
renau1g is a judge. If he looked at your sheet and said yes, then consider yourself leveled up for this fight. I am a reviewer and have made notes to look at the other sheets.

I am actually in the process of reviewing yours incarnation but got interrupted over the weekend. Depending on how tired I am when I leave work I may get through you all tonight.

Can someone confirm that Dane got all the healing potions earlier? Qynn had asked for one and I don't believe anyone responded. [/sblock]

[sblock=Actions]Grabbag moves to J3
Dane moves to K4, to accept the money.
Hadrak move to I9

Alfred is clearly not intimidated by Sheng.

Dane begins to move back to the party, only makes it as far as K9.
Qynn steps back to I14.

Enemies appear everywhere.[/sblock]

OOC: Dane only took 2 potions. I don't know who took the other two.
Also, can it be assumed that the money was put away so that Dane has a free hand.

Sheng takes a defensive posture, taking his hands out of the sleeves. He looks the eyes of his companions, as if asking tacitly what to do. Behind him is a clear escape route, with no enemy able to stop them from fleeting.
As he waits, his eyes swell with a green liquid, that glows wickedly. He girth teeth and prepares himself for battle.

OOC: Sheng still lacks 1 approval.

[sblock=potions and pouches]Sounds good to me. Qynn you have a potion. Once you amend your sheet I'll add my official approval.

Dane, sure. You stow the gold quickly.[/sblock]

The rats rush in like a filth ridden pack. The larger rats brandish swords, but the rest either finger crude knives or nothing at all. The larger rats proove more skilled as well. Each one places a well tipped point against the heroes. Incarnation, Qynn and Sheng each taking a hit.

The other rats makes attempts as well. Sheng finds their efforts predictable and manages to avoid but Incarnation is not so lucky.

[sblock=ooc]

-''Uh, all the furless people are allied and against the furry one, right?'' shouts Hadrak to Alfred.

These might be minsunderstood gentle wererats fighting to right a grievous wrong from the evil Alfred... But the typical wererat really is a rat, they are the agressor, they bit his allies and Alfred seems to have held is part of the bargain despite Hadrak's earlier misgiving. Hadrak's daddy always said: ''Son, play the odds you dumbass.''

Hadrak moves forward to take advantage of the massed enemies and blast them with holy light, blessing Incarnation as he goes along.

I am holding hope for 3 hits.

Assuming at least 1 hit; I gain +1 to all defenses TENT

Incarnation gains +2 power bonus to all attacs TENT
[/sblock]

[sblock=Dane and Incarnation]
Look at the team player; moving to J13 would have been better for Hadrak but would have really screwed Incarnation over.

So... Dane, if you can keep/get Greater Wererat 1 off me, that would be swell!

And Incarnation; don't forget that +2 is for ALL attacks for the entire round. Make it count, it's the best bonus offensive bonus I can grant.

[sblock=ooc]I'll take the other potion then, after all, I did give Hadrak my other one in the fight in the operahouse. ;) [/sblock]

Rurdev didn't trust the Alfred either, but his thoughts were interrrupted by the sounds of padded feets upon the ground. Not knowing if the dwarves were enemies, and seeing the rats bite and slash at his allies he knew he had something to fight. It was something he knew at least. Dane and Incarnation would know too; they had fought wererats in their pursuit of that occursed idol.

Stepping into the action, the shifter draws the lightning blade in his off hand and slashes with the blade at the smaller wererat next to Sheng. The blade easily connects and the shifter invokes the power of his ancestral weapon. Lightning arcs from the blood spray of the wound, striking the enemies nearby.

Qynn d'Cealis, Eladrin Swordmage 1 (2)

Before the attack could hit the sorcerer, a cold shimmering shield appeared around him, orginating from Qynn. Then, with new determination, Qynn steps forward and swings his sword in a wide ark.
