Shouldn't cover from Thorn cause Queens blast to miss?
Page 280 of PHB1 says that using blasts and bursts check for cover from their origin square and blast always originates from the caster (Queen). That would remove weakened, 6 damage and 5 ongoing acid.

I will do my turn as if that's true, we'll simply cut the damage in half if that is NOT true

Zharne wildshapes and scuttles forward toward the big bug queen then moves to stand to the left of the shifter then he sprays the queen with bugs after that he tries scratch away the acid from the shifter

Maretlai is bloodied for sure because queen did only 6 damage (which would bring him to 24 only to take 5 ongoing from guardians bringing him back to 19 putting him to exact bloodied value

And don't forget everyone, use those APs! Let's get the queen down fast.

Hey guys, sorry for my absebce the last couple of weeks. RL has been crazy busy and every time I think I can get a chance to update I get pulled in another direction.

Anyway I attempted to do an update yesterday and it appears that the campaign file for Matools is corrupted and I could not open it. I am going to try and recover the file this weekend on my home PC, but if that does not work then I will have to redraw it or do something else.

I do want to complete this adventure for you guys as I feel bad that you have been spending so much time waiting on me lately.

Hopefully you see an update by Monday.

OOC: No problem DMDanW. My problem isn't so much waiting per se, but the fact that soon my third character will bypass Martelai in level :p RL can really be a bi**h at times.
 

OOC: So I had to redraw the map, and since I drew it right in Maptools, this one might look slightly different. I tried to place everyone where they should be in relation to each other and the enemies, but the cavern itself may have changes a little - sorry bout that. Anyway here is an update finally.

I will go with the cover thing for Martelai and thus the reduced damage and condition. If you want to know anything aboutthe creatures you face, please make the appropriate knowledge checks...

Unfortunately I am out of town for the remainder of the week, so another update will not come until at least Friday when I return. Hey, at least I got this update posted :erm:



Gloom rushes forward towards the nearest guardian, only to have his blade skip harmlessly off the creature’s hard body. Gellan moves forward to support his ally, his attack though suffering a similar fate.

Thorn tries to shake off the acid, but the toxic mixture is matted throughout his fur. He limps forward to engage the massive Kruithik Queen. With his last ounce of strength he lunges forward to jam his spear into the giant insect eliciting a shriek of pain from the creature.

Martelai’s words are filled with Arcane fury and once again the Huge beast shrieks in pain as the warlocks magic finds it mark.

The Queen quickly moves out of the swarm of buzzing and biting insects and closer to Thorn, swiping out at him with a deadly claw. A claw that comes so close to Thorns face he is sure that it trimmed a few errant whiskers as it flew by.



The guardian in front of Gloom shifts closer to its Queen and strikes out at him. Its claw just manages to penetrate his defenses, but in the defense of its queen it seems as if the guardian forces its claw a little further in than usual, drawing a nasty wound.


The other guardian beside gellan takes a meaured step away from him and then scurries over beside the queen, raising it's back higher, as if preparing to launch another barrage of poisonous spikes.


Out of side tunnels around the larger chamber a half dozen smaller kruthik enter and rush towards the intruders. Two of the creatures rush up to Gellan, thursting out at him with their clawed forelegs

Hatchling 3 - moves to G7 & attacks Leonard; 11 vs AC - Miss
Hatchling 6 - Charges Thorn at H9; 9 vs AC - Miss
Hatchling 2 - Charges Thorn at I9; 11 vs AC - Miss
Swarm 1 - moves to H7 (same square as Zharne). Zharne takes 6 damage at the start of his turn.
Swarm 2 - moves to K6 (same square as Gloom). Gloom take 6 damage at the start of his turn.



Start of Thorn turn he takes 5 poison damage (indicated in stat block below)

Leonard moves to get little kruthik between himself and the druid and kills it with well placed strike. He then moves a bit deeper into the tunnel to avoid being attacked by multiple opponents.
